Feel the exact same way @TXRon, hopefully buzz tv will be able to change the server situation. Until then tivimate will stay my first choice.
The other issues im seeing are storage related aka scoped storage with android 11. I was able to sort things out on my ugoos running android 11 with the root switch. So far I have no work around here and I do not want to root this device. The general feeling I get with android 11 is much the same as firestick users have been feeling for some timeâŚits like the walls are closing in. Android touts scoped storage as a security feature for you and I feel its more of a closed system for them.
Well that doesnât sound good but way beyond my comprehension. On another note we were talking earlier about x-plore file manager not working properly. Yesterday I had an update to version 4.28.62 and it is now able to delete stuff that it wouldnât before.
WellâŚnow theres some good news. Im at 4.28.40 and it doesnt play nice
OkâŚthis aint for everybodyâŚandroid 11 has been giving me issues on buzzâŚsomeones not playing fairâŚhard to say. Buzz doesnt like wolf. Tried several times and could get it installed but issues afterâŚno prob, killed wolf all is well except android 11 scoped storage. Doesnt see my 1TB external and disconnects it repeatedly⌠Lets just say the box plays very well, zero issues if I would just leave it alone and watch tv . But ive decided my main viewer is tivimate and the buzz interface I can live withoutâŚSooo I gambled with launcher manager ultimate. Its hit or miss with this app and could brick it. But I pulled the trigger and it was able quite quickly to search and disable buzzâs lock on the launcher. All is well for now. Buzz is still on a secondary tv till it can prove not to screw up and I will make it my primary boxâŚwell untill another Troypoint review
Sounds more like youâre breakinâ a wild stallionâŚgood luckâŚhope that launcher tweak holds & its eyes can focus on your external drive.
Im thinking android 10, 11 etc might be why nvidea is standing pat on 9? To me whats happening is control of the box by google under the name of security.
You donât think itâs a Buzz engineering thingâŚbut more of an android thing? I can see that with the google certified boxes, but I was under the impression Buzz peeps tweaked the operating systems for their boxes.
Well the top 2 nvidea rivals imho are formuler and buzztv and both of their flagship boxes are android 9.
Would be nice to be able to chat with someone from the company, in the know, & get the real skinny on why itâs getting harder & harder to âcustomizeâ these boxes. Maybe google is putting in more electronic landmines & theyâre just harder to re-engineer so they donâtâŚ& like you say, it started after o/s 9.
I believe thats the case exactly. Amazon started locking down their androids and now google is following them. Yea it would be nice to hear from an insider.
Not really the case.
Buzz and forumler are semi firmware locked which means mytvonline2 and buzz ui are intergrated with the os, nothing to do with google. Its them trying to kinds just use their interface and iptv software. Being semi locked limits the customizable options. You can still use tivimate on both. The ui, software and mobo are essentially built in. Not like the firestick but still pushy on their product. Most people donât care about most of it. Some need more customizable options. They bought the license to use android tv 10 and 11 but also have dev options so they can tweak the box to their specs and needs.
While true , however scoped storage is a google implementation and not by vendors. Scoped storage is locking down the system fom a google/android perspective and not the venders, at least not other than their own customization. Its not just with these two vendors that its being felt. Its a rather large topic of discussion on the net.
Oh yea that, my apologies. That is a issue. But also at the same time when you have 3 to 5 apps that do everything is there a need? The control part on google is bad, and i hate google.
True, my only real complaint with buzz is the iptv server intergration. You would think with tivimate so popular they would take notice and implement the servers together like tivimate so you dont have to switch servers to channel hop. Now this isnt an issue if you use 1 server.
Okay @TXRon weâre on the same page with the buzz tv app and I could do with getting rid of it and just using my tivimate which would be totally solved with wolf launcher. So for all of us slow people I canât wait for your tutorial on "how to install wolf launcher on buzz tv x5 box"
well, after 2 reboots the buzz jumped back to the buzz layout. I might try another option this evening. My 3rd option is rooting the box. Ive downloaded the tools just not quite sure I will jump just yetâŚwill post as I do.
JumpâŚJumpâŚJump⌠& I hope ya hit the ground runninâ
haha⌠ya just want to see fireworks huh
Ha haâŚhey, Columbus took a chance
