I shut my auto renewal off, thanks for that. I also checked my Premiumize account and it appears they DO NOT auto renew.
Everything in this field is getting frustrating Iām ready to give up I jailbroke my 1st FS no problems by using utube now with all this $$$ crap I need new TV and android box and donāt know where to begin I posted on devices and software and it never got posted this is insane Iām ready to through technology and my phone and burn it
I am not entirely sure what your post is about but by using the site search and posting questions there are lots of resources, including ppl, that can and will help you out.

Most are moving off of Firesticks because amazon is locking $hit down. Go to Walmart and get yourself an ONN 4K Pro. Everything else you need is here. Use the search
I donāt buy devices that a large corporation can control.
Well @Avid08 then you face a dilemma in that you can really only buy a Linux based device that isnāt based on Android TV because Google controls all Android, even the open Android project.
Fire TV is obviously out, Roku (Linux based) and Apple seem pretty large to me. Chinese (government controller corporations) device? So what OS do you recommend?
There may be a couple Linux based device but then that seem to qualify but it just becomes how BIG a corporation are you willing to trust?
So to be faithful to your statement you will need to build your own hardware and code your own OS, you could use Open Android based on some release and block Google updates, code your own updates as needed, not an impossible task but I wouldnāt do it.
Sorry buddy, I understand the sentiment of your statement, I really do, but reality kind of gets in the way.
I really meant devices running Google TV OS and Fire OS.
I understand that AOSP is created by Google but they have no real control over Android devices running AOSP in respect to them being able to push updates, advertising or block users from installing apps like the ones I have mentioned.
Thatās why I have always used devices running AOSP.
There are zero issues with app blocking on the ONN boxes which run Google OS. nothing is being blocked. I am not going to assume just because Amazon is blocking 3rd party apps that Google will as well
I didnāt say there was lol but they could actually do it if they wanted to.
They definitely add bloatware and advertising to Google TV os and some of the reasons why I donāt own Google TV devices and tbh actually none of the current Google TV devices would suit my needs.
There are the standard stupid apps added to the Onn, just like the Fire sticks and every TV you will ever buy.. Itās no big deal. Some people actually use them. The Onn right now is probably the best streaming device you will be able to buy and especially for the price/performance.
You can delete most of the bloatware and if you donāt want to see the advertising simply put the box in apps mode. Frankly I see no need for launchers, app mode, etcā¦I spend less than 10 seconds on the home screen. Iām either going into KODI or my IPTV App. There is nothing else on the Google OS I use
I just got the $30 ONN box and set it up exactly as TP showed in the video using Projectivy + Launcher Manager and itās so clean and simple itās well worth the extra few minutes of set up time. Itās AWESOME
We all have different needs so what might suit you wonāt suit me.
Hang in there @Oldhead! We will help you but you need to try and be specific about what it is you need help with. Things do change, I agree 100%, but I feel safe saying most of us here have learned to roll with the punches and refuse to let the fast pace tech changes & advancements get us down. Its sure hard to keep up with, granted; but for me at least, the convienience and money savings outweigh the aggravation of climbing that learning curve. Keep steppin brotherā¦we got ya!
Similar experience happened to me. It just seems to be so conniving for them to do that! Canāt trust any of them.
Hi all, this topic has been inactive for awhile, so I thought I would provide an update on the auto-renewal feature. I was able to go into my account settings (I went through the website) and easily deleted by credit card on file and turn off auto renew. They asked the question as to why I wanted to turn it off. I chose āI want to renew manuallyā. I have a two year subscription. Assuming they do try and force the increased price, I will simply let my old account expire after two years and create a new one with a new email address to get the benefit of joining as a new user.
Iām curious if you just deleted it on the website, did they open a chat with you or it was asked via their website why you wanted to change. My last renewal there, I went to Paypal so there cannot be any auto renew anymore. Shut them right down. I choose to renew, not by default.
Yes, on the website. There was the option to delete auto-pay. I received a pop-up window asking whyā¦I could have not replied if I chose. Very straight forward. I then received an email stating my auto-pay was de-activated and my plan would expire at the end of the contract (for me, now just under two years).
Great explanation!! I hope it still works this way for me on January 28, 2026!

I just went in to test out the option to cancel auto renewal with Surfshark. My subscription is good up through December of 2027, but I figured Iād get a jump start on it now. When I went to cancel auto-renewal, I chose the option that it was too expensive. After putting in some comments, it then presented me with the following price: $47.46 for 24 months, which is pretty good. I am happy to see that they were willing to offer this discount in order to keep my business. I will indeed keep auto-renewal turned on for the time being. Iāll set a calendar reminder 1-week before my renewal date in 2-years, and will then come back in here to turn off auto-renewal, and will take them up on the more favorable 24-month pricing that they provide (assuming itās still an option).
