Best Firestick Alternatives

WiFi 6, WiFi 7? Each advance in WiFi tech brings more speed but lower range. I’m sticking with WiFi 5 until there’s a major leap forward in the technology!

Well the Nvidia Shield Pro just literally smokes anything that Amazon has sold. I’ve had mine for 2 years now and not one issue at all. But with all recent discussion about Google wanting developers to sign up with them (which may now, not be an issue) I jumped on an ASOP box, the Ugoos AM9 even though my Shield is working perfectly.

If you do a search, here on the Insider, you will see that there have been a multitude of discussions on replacing the FireSticks.

@JamesH1949 ….a good place to begin is at the beginning of this thread :index_pointing_up: :index_pointing_up: , lot’s of Insider responses to what you are asking….and as an Insider you have access to @TROYPOINT reviews/videos on many of the devices mentioned….

Yes, I like my Shield as well, but I would not buy one at this point. The new Amlogic X5M boxes are roughly twice as powerful and some versions are low as $50. Some of them run in 64 bit mode and some in 32 bit mode.

Also, while the picture on the Shield is very detailed with the upscaling, I don’t think it is as vibrant as some of my other boxes. (Maybe I need to adjust the settings).

The problem is @JerryJ, a lot of users on here will not do that, and prefer to be spoonfed instead.
