Does anyone know if its possible to backup a ONN 4K plus box. I don’t think it is but checking if some new technology allows that to be done. Just like you’d backup a computer..
@warhorse , this may not be exactly what you seek, but it gets you in the right direction
Or this…
It is not possible to perform a full system clone or direct data transfer from one Onn 4K Plus to another due to Android OS limitations, but you can back up specific app data and settings using workarounds.
Backup Limitations and Workarounds
-
No System Clone: There is no built-in feature to copy the entire device configuration, including all app logins and settings, to a second unit. Users must manually reinstall apps and sign into accounts on the new device.
-
Individual App Backups: Apps with native backup features, such as Kodi and TiviMate, can be backed up. For Kodi, you may need to grant full file permissions in app settings and copy the
.kodifolder to an external drive. For TiviMate, backups are stored in/sdcard/Android/media/ar.tvplayer.tv, which requires a file manager like Es File Explorer to access and copy. -
Launcher Settings: If you use a custom launcher like Projectivy, you can export its specific settings via the launcher’s menu and import them on the new device.
-
External Storage: To facilitate these transfers, you can use an OTG cable to connect a USB drive formatted to FAT32 or exFAT (depending on the specific model year), allowing you to move backup files between devices
