I absolutely never bypass my VPN and for security reasons never will and I don’t ever have issues connecting to any Amazon service or any site. So there is something else at play here, it isn’t Amazon sevices fault.

You dont bypass Amazon stuff? I usually even have problems getting on their website through the VPN on my laptop. I must have given terrible information then, because my Amazon stuff HATES running through the VPN. Prime Video doesnt load for me, amazon music acts up and pretty much anything that says Amazon on my firesticks (which will soon be paperweights or maybe fishing lures) doesnt load. I’ll delete my post so I dont give out misinformation to the Insiders.

I have never ever had even one hiccup using a VPN and absolutely everything goes through it. I should mention I use ProtonVPN paid version but I never bypassed SurfShark, nord, IPVanish or cyberghost either.

I appreciate you telling me so I could delete my post. I want to promote using VPN for everything, but I assumed everyone had the same Amazon issues that I have through a VPN.

I can’t actually speak for everyone. As you know I program Max sticks and have used those as well as a KM2 and an ONN. I have never had to bypass any Amazon apps and won’t. I do reset apps like amazon kids, music, games, and their related modules to factory after ever component update. That’s why, when this was suggested, I thought it odd as to me it’s like using a hand grenade to kill a fly when a fly swatter would have done.

My hope is that I’m the only one with this issue.

Always had the same issue as you with Amazon apps, would not work through a VPN.

I’d really like to figure out why that is, as none of the streaming devices I’ve used or worked on have had these problems. A tough one to nail down.

thanks AMD27! i am to can’t wait to play it is a new hobby for me! started with 2 firesticks then 2 onn boxes then T95 box that i had to send back it had issues with wifi and Ethernet my next thing will be something with stock android

I wonder if it has something to do with Surfshark’s CleanWeb (ad-guard)?

Òooooo. That’s a distinct possibility. I only enable malware protection on my VPN. Have to test it out.

I’m using SS now but I had the issues when I was using IPVanish previously . Haven’t used any Amazon apps for a while. Might have to test them out again.

Sitting in Dr waiting room with Grandson who has an appt and decided to test it. Downloaded Amazon Prime Video, logged in and had my Express VPN running and no issue playing at all. This is my iPhone FYI. I disconnected Express and turned on SS, opened Prime Video and nothing would play, even what I was just watching. Turned it off, opened it again with no VPN and it played fine. Weird

That is odd. But it does help indicate that it may be a setting in SS. Tx for the info.

All amazon services should be bypassed to eliminate issues with amazon and a vpn
