I too am having the same issue with vpn disabling the full function of all my firesticks in my home. This glitch started happening in Jan. I had not made any changes nor downloaded any new apps. Not sure why its only occurring to a small population of firestick users. I can’t do a factory reset because I don’t have access to download all the adfree apks currently on my devices
If using a vpn make sure amazon services and paid stuff is bypassed.
I am using Proton myself and I don’t have to bypass it. I do sometimes have to get a different server to get through.
Yes exactly. I never bypass my VPN for anything. I like my privacy and not broadcasting my ISP addy. Proton has been good for me.
Hi, I also am having the same problem over the last week or so. All my apps work and the background is now black. I have done nothing different to my Fire TV Sticks and both of the ones I use have had the same problem. There was one day when both sticks got the Amazon connection but then the background went black again. I use IPVanish as my VPN.
Read the above posts, bypass amazon services with ipvanish.
