Looking for an app that kills (force-stops) apps running in the background on Android streaming boxes. I know you can double-tap the home button on a Shield to show you which apps are active, and then you can force-stop them. Is there a similar way or app with the ONN or other Android boxes that will force-stop all running apps? I’M ALSO USING PROJECTIVY LAUNCHER on the ONN, so I don’t know if that’s preventing me from using the double-tap on the home button like my Shield, even though I’m using the same launcher on my Shield.
@MaverickCoast , I don’t have that many apps on my original Onn 4k Pro, so I just do them one at a time, but here’s a way to clear up sum cache that might work for ya… Settings>System>Storage>Free up storage>Clear cache>enter button, then yes … should get it down to around 1.81 MB or so, may have to click a time or 2… hope this helps sum …

I bought the TDUK app killer and also the cache cleaner. For $2 each it was well worth it in my opinion.

Fast task killer wouldn’t install properly on my ONN pro for some reason. I’ve had to get the old app “background apps and processes” but it doesn’t seem to work anymore on my ONN
“background apps and processes” works on my ONN 4K Pro.
Might want to take a second look at your setup.
@rme for the win with TDUK App Killer. 
I have and use TDUK’s App Killer and Cache Cleaner in every box that I own. It does truly ‘force stop’ apps and the cache cleaner does its just as well. One click each is great. I would rather dig out an ingrown toenail than manually clear cache and force stop apps. They are well worth it IMO.
Double tap doesn’t force stop apps running in the background, it only clears your recently used apps, so if that’s all you been doing then you don’t need anything else, but back ground apps and processes lists and TDUK app killer work great.
I use this also. I picked it up at the Play store. It’s not 100% automatic but simplifies the process quite a bit.

So much for Grok. I just activated Fast Task Killer and it DOESN’T force stop applications. I went back to my apps that I just used, and the “force stop” option was still available, so FTK did not force stop them. 
I couldn’t get it to work in my On. 4k pro v2 either. Kept getting an error at bottom. Settings looked ok to me.
