I recently switched to the Nvidia shield tv pro from Firestick and I have no regrets. I will eventually be switching other tvs to Nvidia as time goes by and money allows but i dont want every tv to have access to my account.
My question is whether I have to have a google account associated with the device or can I delete it after the set up and still have access to all the apps? I dont want to test my Nvidia as i already have it set up the way i like.
My main use is Kodi, Youtube and the TV/movie apps (Max, Amazon, etc). I don’t really play games or anything else. I know I got a high end device and I’m ok with that. I may use it more in the future and i wont have to upgrade to a devive for more memory etc.
I am with you Miki. I block everything google in my Formuler boxes, & on the Kinhank boxes I have. Deleted the fake named login I put in them as the Kinhank G1 forces a google login on initial setup, then disabled all of google garbage. Google hood winks everyone in to thinking your safe with them when in reality you are giving up all your information to them just to use google play. They do all of this with the false perception of convenience & imaginary security from them. It is scary when you read what rights your giving up just to get the google play app. I will slide in sideways using Android like sliding in to home plate & pray the dust cloud I create will keep them away!
I just got a formuler 11 pro max and I saw your post about blocking google. Is there a video you can recommend? Also I can’t find background apps & process list on there.
Blocking google isn’t hard really. Go to your settings/apps/see all apps, then go through them all including system apps and disable all of the ones you see here in the photo. I also disabled youtube not shown in photo. As for getting apps you need Troy has apps accessible from his toolbox, available at downloader code 250931 using the downloader app. The APK time app, Aptoide app are nice for many apps. For the Aurora store which you will need you can get the latest version (4.7.5) from the APK Time app which is newer than the toolbox version. Aurora store will get you access to G.P. store apps. Tizen tube is a far better youtube replacement also on the toolbox. There is also a newer version of Virus Total (2.5.4) but the one on the toolbox works fine too if you need it. I can’t remember off of the top of my head where I got the latest version of virus total & I have it in my phone & shoot it in to the boxes with the send to tv app when needed. Very handy app if you find APK files in the computer simply copying to phone then transfer. Also the APK mirror app is awesome to use for installing those .XAPK files that the system installer won’t install. Available in Aurora store.
Man you know your stuff!!! Yea that’s the background app. I don’t have a computer so I’m useing my phone and a formuler box. I’m assuming I can find that app off apk time or useing a downloader code to that store. I have a lot of codes for stores. Thank your time i appreciate it. I tried to add Troy’s old URL for starters pro to get the 10,000 channels but i cant find it anymore. Would you know it?
You have the link here for this background app as I put here for you. APK pure has it. Hit that link & Download that app in to your phone & shoot it in to your Formuler using the send to tv app. You have to be on same network with your phone that your Formuler is on. The Send to tv app is available in the Aurora store app. You need to download it to your phone and your Formuler box. I appreciate the flowers on the knowing things, but this site has helped me a bunch along with the self taught with being retired things I have learned by digging over the years. It will take some time but you will get there to know how to work with things for your Formuler. As far as the Code your referring to I have no idea what that could even be. There are many free M3U links for free channels that Troy has up on his site. BTW, thanks for supporting Troy becoming a patron on this site! He has been excellent helping people with many things & doing reviews, news & all of it, along with all the great people here to help each other.
