Amazon Now Blocking 3rd Party Apps on Firestick/Fire TV

Thomson Streaming Box Plus 270 is the UK equivalent of the Onn Pro only more expensive. Around £60 on Amazon UK.

Thanks for the help. I will have a look at all the suggestions. I have been a committed supporter of the firestick for years cause its ease of use and I’ve never had any real problems with it, but it appears that now with their changes Amazon is pulling the rug out from under it. So I will have to make myself familiar with these other systems

If you dont need netflix and prime etc, there is aosp android boxes with the new s905x5m and 4gb ram.
X96 m200 and x88 pro x5m.

Spoke too soon! Amazon has blocked LivenetTV v1.7.9. There is a new v1.8.0 which is working for now - don’t know if/how long that will work for.

Doesn’t mean anything. The revolution has begun. If Amazon wants to play this game then nobody will use Firesticks anymore

28907,get it from there under iptv players and works just fine

My new fire tv took the upgrade, i did a factory reset and it allowed me to add back a couple of apps. Has anyone noticed after the update I do not have a Fire TV setting in settings . That is what allowed developer options, is there a way around that ?

You a have to enable developer go to settings then my tv then click 7 times and it will come up if you don’t have my fire tv in settings I haven’t a clue why Maybe reinstall again

Ps try a google search I just looked there are a few ways people are saying to remedy situation

thats it my tv is gone from settings now

4 posts were split to a new topic: Google Will Block Sideloading

Today my Amazon firesticks storage almost went to zero..appears the settings allowed application to add new addons .when you click applications you will see a few addons allowing Amazon to download many useless addons taking storage space I clicked to turn these off then went to my all addons deleted all these apps.firestick now back to current status but there are still many apps I did not recognize but left on just in case.

Several people reported on AFTVt that last night, Amazon has bricked their devices overnight. It’s begun, and I suspect we’re going to see an explosion in bricking shortly! Just saying!

If you do a search, you will find that Amazon is turning the lights off for most, if not all, side-loading. The posts should be easy to find.

Sometimes the stick can get corrupted. Have you tried a factory reset?

Well, I don’t think the Sky is Falling just yet. Aside from blocking a coupe of suspect apps, my sticks are all working as intended.

Got a link to the AFTVNews article?

It has started. Maybe just a bit earlier than we suspected. I haven’t bought either an Amazon or other proprietary operating system device since 2017.
