Been to 5 WalMarts in the last 2 days, 2 in Virginia and 3 in North Carolina. Nobody has the new 4k stick yet. Plenty of old HD sticks and 4k (non-Plus, non-Pro) boxes.

Thanks for the heads up we appreciate it!

just bought the new version of sticks at Walmart store in Texas. The specs are pretty much identical to the regular ONN small boxes (not plus or Pro model). There was still a few of the regular boxes on the shelves for $24.99. The price of the new version of stick is $39.99. Still shows out of stock at online Walmart and new stick isn’t listed yet .

I am setting it up now and looks Gemini AI is built into this. Not sure I like that. I was still able to disable play protect and turned on developer options. Will keep everyone posted

Appreciate the insights here and we will get our hands on this new Onn 4K Stick when it’s available. Sounds promising from what we’ve read so far!

Whoa, Nellie…….. I thought the new stick was $29.99(?) At $39.99, that’s the same price as the 4k Plus box. No contest there - it will be dead in the water!

I don’t know if they are going to release another plus model. May just be the stick or the pro. I can still find a few regular boxes on sale.. makes me wonder the price of the new pro boxes. I think the only reason the new sticks were in store is because they aren’t listed on walmart website yet. I thought the new sticks were $24.98 because thats the tag they were sitting above on the shelf.

When i went to register.. total was $86 and some change for 2 sticks. I put one stick back and got two more of the regular ONN boxes and my total was $97 and change.

Got the new stick configured. Everything went smooth just like a plus or pro model. Just a little slower. They are identical to the small/regular ONN boxes. Only diffrence is that Gemini AI stuff, but since I use Projectivy Launcher.. I never see it

Was at my local Wally world yesterday and they had some of the ā€œoldā€ Onn on stock and at the regular price, central Missouri.

I agree with you @dgthecomputeruy :roll_eyes:Seems like anything I try to use or open lately has that Gemini AI built into it. I feel as if I’ve got ā€˜a monitor attached to my ankle’ and I can’t do anything without being constantly watched :eyes: and spied on :warning::magnifying_glass_tilted_left::telescope::ear::exclamation_question_mark: I apologize for sounding paranoid and I wonder if anyone else has some of the same feelings :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I hate AI when it does stuff like reads my emails and then sums up my conversations.. thats them delving too much into my life. on the ONN boxes, you can go into privacy settings and turn off microphone for gemini.. havent found a way to remove it completely yet

@dgthecomputeruy Thanks for reminding me of turning off microphone in privacy settings to help block Gemini AI for my ONN box. I had forgotten about that!

i bet once troy or mikki or pne the gurus get their hands on one, they will find a way to completely remove it

AI is here to stay. I suggest you find a way to use it to your advantage. Many here have. It is NOT spying on you.
