Adding OTG cable to my FireStick Max 4k

Download Movies from Stremio on Android
If you are looking for a way to download movies from Stremio on Android, then we’ve got you covered. On Android, first of all, you need to download the Advanced Download Manager app, which allows you to download any files from the internet, including torrents.

Now all you have to do is open the Stremio app and play your favorite video. When you get the option to select a player to play the video, simply choose the “ADM app,” and the video file will automatically start downloading via the ADM app.

Yes thank you and I had mentioned ADM from the Playstore and trying to use one of my apps to send it to the Firestick. The whole reason for these tests are to download using the firestick to the USB external stick. I have no reason to download it to a tablet or phone unless I am missing something here from reading too much. This is only about Firestick downloading programs from the app of my choice. If I can get it to work then others could follow suit. So I’ve downloaded it to my phone, used apps to fire and sent it to the firestick. I am working with it now and trying to set up a proper folder to see if it works. More later, probably tomorrow.

I understand what you’re trying to do, however what you could do is download the movie to your desktop PC then transfer to USB memory stick and then put that memory stick in your OTG cord and play it off your fire stick on a monitor or tv. Of course you probably already thought of that and did it.

Thank you. I actually don’t need to do that because before I got the Firestick, I downloaded to my laptop and use Serviio as a media server. I can stream right to my tv as it had DLNA or to the firestick because even x-plore has DNLA and will stream from your network. I’ve done that many times in the past if the TV decided to be finicky. The whole point of this exercise is to download using the Firestick Apps directly to my usb stick as I now know you can in fact use an internal or external but one at a time of course. When you plug the internal back in, you have access to the apps you offloaded to the stick. This is a tomorrow project now although the ADM seems to be running on my FS but still having trouble changing the directory to the usb stick. User error I suppose.

I didn’t really have enough time on my firestick but just now, I tried it on my phone where I originally downloaded ADM. When I opened stremio, it just played and I was not given an option to select a player. I never get that on my Firestick either, I will look around to see if I set up a default so it doesn’t ask anymore. Film+ asks every time and gives you about 6 options with ADB being one. It’s not on my phone. I will spent time and get a few more grey hairs tomorrow.

Ya I just reread those instructions and something is missing. When you start the vid, if I remember correctly, their is a share link on the top right and if you have the ADM installed it should be in that list.

Yes I’ve just seen that on my phone. It’s almost impossible to test this on my phone because I would need a magnifying glass to see everything. It did que it up in ADM, I saw that. I am able to select my SD card. I need to be able to do that on the firestick. This is a WIP. It would be great if it works and with other streaming apps as well. I wonder what most people are using to download. More news to come and hopefully this thread can stay open as I think it could be some valuable information once it’s solved.

It is valuable imho. I really appreciate your testing this stuff out. I don’t personally record but a lot do so these little added details help to know more about the process for others. One more idea. Using the “share” I have save to ES. So your app should show there. Fingers crossed.

Well I got back to it today. I had in fact downloaded a partial video but it defaulted to the Firestick internal memory. When using Adb on the firestick I get to a point where I want to set up the proper folder on the USB stick. The app requires going back and forth between using the mouse pointer and normal. For the first time after looking at it on my phone, I was able to get to the section where everything showed up for folders including my 64 gb stick. This is where I am stuck. I cannot yet move a mouse pointer or bar down to select. It seems that nothing works on that page once there. It could be user error, but one should work. I have always found the highlighting of certain things on the firestick might have well been invisible as seeing the actual place can be next to impossible., I wonder if there is a way to remedy that. So here I am, ADM works. A file can be dl to the stick. It can be moved over (I used x-plore) and played from there. Not what I want. It must download to the stick of course. More later.

** Well the first topic regarding my new OTG cable is about to close and it brings me down to this, not being able to get to the USB stick on the ADM menu. It was side loaded, sent from my phone actually. I see a few sites claiming FS version but I am thinking it’s the same one just put into an APK file. I do believe my version is the latest and greatest. Is there anyone out there using ADM on a firestick and able top save the download to their USB stick? I will add here, my last post on the thread that is about to close

No need to make another one. i will merge it and extend the time.

Thank you as it’s sort of turned into another topic although related.

There are sites out there that claim they have a firestick verson of this app but I am not quite convinced it just isn’t the Playstore one or even older put into an APK. Just the same I will try it to see if I can actually select my USB stick that I can see, but cannot choose in the app.
If anyone is using this out there please chime in or if there is another free good downloader that works with apps on the firestick, please let me know.

Not that I understood everything, but it is/was a grand experiment. Me? Still trying to get Tivimate to recognize and record to the usb drive stuck in the side of my Mecool. Good luck.

The app works. That is the annoying part. I cannot seem to change the default download directory even though it can see it. I would not want to download to the stick and copy it over. Honestly, I don’t download anymore but the odd thing I might just to have it around and buffer proof. This is for fun but not so much fun when you’re on a screen and nothing moves except back out of it.

Hi Wizzard Just like you I have been trying to add a 64GB USB SanDisk with two different OTG cables. I have formatted the USB with both RUFUS and AOMEI Partition Assistant. when I look it says FAT32. My firestick is up to date at OS 7.6.3.3. The firestick does not recognize the USB. I know you got yours to finally work. I am not sure why mine does not recognize my external device. Any help would be appreciated thank you in advance!

On the Max just add in the OTG cable or hub, start the system up. Once on the home screen plug in the USB drive and you should get on screen prompts to follow. Make sure you’re using the power brick that came with the Max and directly into house power or power bar hooked to house current.

Miki, I just did that again. I unplugged the 64 GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive and restarted the firestick 4k Max. Once it finished booting and came to the home screen I plugged in USB. I waited to see if it would recognize the device it did not. I am not sure what I am doing wrong I have never got it to recognize the new USB. do you have any other ideas?
