Hello All:
I’m a long-time/former user of Terrarium, TeaTV, BeeTV, FilmPlus, Cinema, etc. Today, I find most of these apks have ads that basically make them unusable. Cinema is an exception but its stream availability is poor. Are there any other APKs that I might have missed that have ad-free streaming? I’ve tried BeeTV and FilmPlus ad-free versions but they still contain all the same ads. And yes, I have SS/CleanWeb/RD on my Firesticks but my family and in-laws are not tech savvy enough to be able to use them without getting themselves in trouble, hence my question.

I hate to keep flogging a dead horse, but for Series and Movies, Stremio does not have any ads, and it’s free.

Yes, but it uses torrents, so that won’t work without a VPN.
Not sure why that’s a problem, especially with RD integration and I never use it without an active VPN. Most sources are torrent based these days. Torrents in and of themselves are not illegal. Some of the content may be though. Any app that you use to stream copyrighted material is a problem without an active VPN.

Yes, use of any apks that use torrents will get you into trouble with your ISP and maybe even MPAA! Using torrents makes you a distributor of copyrighted material and that IS illegal.

Umm that isn’t true. Governments and schools as well as lots of organizations use torrents to distribute material, from tech manuals to contracts. Torrents are not illegal. The content, as I said, maybe illegal but when combined with a VPN make them just as safe or safer than an app like BeeTV without encrypted vpn. Any streaming of copyrighted material is illegal as is watching it. I have never distributed torrents, as I don’t have a tracker app installed. Stremio does not distribute torrent “bits”. Oh and I don’t download or store any copyrighted material either.

If your apk uses torrent sources, I believe you are acting as a peer distributor of “bits”.
Can’t The torrent needs a torrent tracker to actively choose “bits” to be “located” and distributed, requiring a torrent “tracker” to connect users in a swarm. But I can see this will be a lengthy discussion on torrenting and torrent protocols, so I’m going to leave it here. The bottom line, Stremio is no less secure than using an app like BeeTV etc. on an unsecured connection, and doesn’t have ads.

Ah, OK, I’m obviously not as advanced on torrent technology as you. Might be worth a discussion for folks like me who could learn something useful?
Are these ad-free apps (like BeeTV and Filmplus) or something else?
I use Stremio with Real Debrid, Orion and Torrentio, I never use a VPN, but I only use RD links. Works 100% for me.

film plus is i dont use bee tv so cant say for sure
The fact that reaching the “seeding” state is not possible doesn’t mean that you are not uploading back to the swarm. In conditions of very little disk space, Stremio uses an in-memory buffer, so it downloads chunks to RAM instead of HDD, and frees up this memory sooner.
Stremio will upload to the swarm from what it has available in the buffer, at all times, as long as there are other peers in the swarm that request pieces which it currently has available.

Hey @Miki I have a Real-Debrid Downloads category on my Stremio. I clicked on it to see what would happen and the chosen movie started playing. Is that just pulling download from my RD account, or am I actually downloading it?
Wow PF. I’ve never seen that before. How did you get to that in Stremio? I’m going to look on both my phone and the shield.
Aha I found it scrolling all the way to the bottom under all my catelogues. Under Real Debrid - Other
First time I’ve ever seen that. So I just went to RD and they do correspond to the downloads there. I cleared all downloads in my RD account. Force closed Stremio and then cleared the cache and now they’re all gone.
Ok, so are you recommending I do the same? Is that info on my RD account put me in jeopardy?
What’s weird is I don’t ever remember installing that addon and I don’t see it in the addon lists.
It’s new to me as well. I clear all info from my RD account on a regular basis. I never knew it showed in Stremio until you pointed it out to me. I can’t honestly say if it puts us in Jeopardy, but I’m a better safe than sorry type of guy, so I cleared the history.
