Hi All
Dunno if I am in the right place…
Looking to replace my Mecool box, and saw this while searching for candidates.
What do you guys think? Spec seems good. The IPTV facility seems interesting also.
Nvidia Sheild alternative?
Is it worth the money?
Regards
I recently deleted Hulu from both my Nvidia Shield and my Nvidia Lite because I kept getting an error message. I called Hulu support and after an hour of life wasted, I talked to a tech. He did not know what a Nvidia shield was and asked for my box serial. Mine do not have anything on them, no sticker, nada. He concluded that there must be a conflict. The conflict must have come from one of their updates because it worked fine. I see no previous posts about so here I am. I also did ask on Reddiot(not a typo just a description) and a couple of old posts mentioned this issue. Yes, I updated my box, and unplugged the modem, and box to power cycle.
Has anyone heard of the Hulu Schiel conflict issue? One other point of information. Hulu works on both my Onn and my Firestick.
Fire TV Cube 2nd Gen. Have been using this device and it has served me well… until recently. I have been getting more and more lagging to point - I would be pulling my hair out if I had much left! Anyway, all apps are updated, plenty of free space, cache cleaned down manually, and i have fast internet on wifi often get 350+. So just to check, i put in my FS 4K max, works a charm. I was wondering if to recover the cube, would it worthwhile reset to factory settings? I know its a nuclear option but not sure what else to try. Advice welcome. Thanks
Not sure if this is the right place, but here goes. I had a BuzzTV B5 that lightning took out the other day. I’m looking to replace it. I did have some issues with the buzz, but nothing horrible. I had ordered an x5 through Amazon the other day, but it still hasn’t shipped.
Basically I’m looking for a box for IPTV. I’m not a gamer, but it might be useful for the grandkids. I know enough from Troy and others, to get it to do what I need, but not a computer genius. Here’s what I’d like, and I know the player will have something to do with some of this. Ay this point I’m thinking paid TiViMate as the player.
IPTV
Recording a big plus. Had issues with the B5
Gaming, not mandatory
Only Subscribe to Prime, but can watch that through the smart tv app
Would like to be able to take it back to Australia with me in a couple of years, which is why I originally was thinking the Buzz X5 as it comes with a Global Power Adaptor Kit
At this point, I’m thinking:
NVIDIA shield
Formuler not sure what model, maybe Z11 Pro Max
A BuzzTV box
Any other suggestions would be appreciated as well. I just want something reliable, that once setup, I won’t need to constantly fiddle with constantly, that my wife who is virtually computer or even app illiterate can easily use and that will last at least a few years.
Has anyone heard of “NovaWave box”? Web address follows.
The claim is you can get all sorts of channels including cable channels. I am pretty suspicious, it looks like just on HD antenna, but the description is you plug it into the HDMI port
It IS only a regular HDTV antenna…

Looking for opinions on a streaming device. I’ve always used Windows and a mouse to navigate, rather than a remote moving app to app, and find your app after 20 clicks. I know you can personalise layouts, but it’s also clicking through shows or films etc. I would be using IPTV, Kodi, streaming apps for films & TV shows, browsing(?). Previously used desktop Kodi and Stremio, though that continually freezes and stops working. There are more android options than Windows download options, so considering which device and ease of use.
I’m actually looking for some advice. I was going to buy a new fire stick and I came across the android box. I’m just wondering what is the recommendation between the two
Well @Naaima…there’s lots of reading you can do right here on this site…just use the search tool in the upper right of the page…but most here have moved away from amazon products in favor of android devices…in the end the choice is yours to make for what suits you the best…cost wise and ease of use…
Does anyone have an issue with XTreme HD not responding to customer service issues? I have a lifetime membership and with the laat server upgrade the appear to have simply canceled my lifetime membership. At least they wont correct my login issue
Has anyone here tried the Kickpi KP1 streaming box? It has features similar to the Meecool boxes and seems to be a popular choice on many forums. I’m considering a purchase but need more info before pulling the trigger.
Hi, I’m looking for a little bit of help regarding a new streaming stick that I’ve bought. I have a firestick 4k , I’ve read a few articles about how they’re going to be obsolete soon after the vega os release so I’ve decided to buy a Thompson streaming stick 140G It has google tv and I have tried to jailbreak it so I can use kodi but I tried to download the crew and couldn’t download any dependencies so I can use it. Has anyone else had this issue with google tv
Nothing wrong with using the FS. Never heard of that stick, no wonder your having problems. It will be years before Amazon makes the stick non functional.
