Have you tried using the downloader?

yes it works fine

I havent used a FS in a while but are you sure your account wasnt logged out?

Are you looking for apps that are definitely available on the FS? Or apps that you hope are available?

Most of the best apps are not in the AppStore

no its logged in and it works I was looking for a wifi analyzer I found 1 and tried to download it and it wouldn’t so out of curiosity I tried some others such as Hulu and DirecTV stream and it gave me the same message I was just trying to figure out if I needed to toss it in the garbage .

I agree with that I’ve been using fs for about 5 yrs and just never had anything like this happen

have you allowed unknown sources just a thought

yes I tried another factory reset and got it going then about an hour later it reverted back to its old ways so I just unplugged it threw it in the trash can and plugged another one in. thanks for all the input :sunglasses:

Dont forget to deregister the device on Amazon.

Such a weird issue. Its their own device and app store but it cant find any apps.

ok I’ll try that because the one I put in its place is doing the same thing now.

I was saying to deregister if you are throwing one out. But I guess you could also verify it is registered with Amazon.

Amazon has a list of all the devices you have under your account. Fs, echos, tablets etc.

have you turned automatic offload off also check the stick has latest updates you also have to sync your device with amazon

I’ve have figured out what’s going on it’s surfshark because it shows all the system apps when I’m bypassing the VPN and I haven’t been routing the system apps around surfshark. but at least I know now . thanks for all the help

I too have SurfShark and noticed the same thing. If you disconnect SurfShark for about a minute or more, then you will be able to download and open the app that you were searching for.

This took me awhile to figure this out too. I am not expert but still not sure why it would affect SurfShark. Anyways, glad you were able to find the fix.

Surfshark is the first vpn I’ve used that gives you the option to run all your system apps through the vpn nord and expressvpn dont.

I’m afraid I don’t understand your post. I have used and tested 6 different VPNs and unless otherwise configured to do so via split tunnelling or white listing every app, system or otherwise, on a device, will go through the active VPN tunnel.

All other VPN I’ve used which are Nord and expressvpn I have always just bypassed the VPN with my YouTube tv and prime netflix… but with surfshark when you scroll down the list to select which apps you want to bypass the VPN it shows all the hidden system apps also but long story short app store didn’t work untill I bypassed it from going through the VPN .Im definitely no expert but I did finally figure it out.

Ok but that just contradicts your original post. All apps go through the VPN unless you choose to set them to bypass the VPN. Not sure what exact app store you were unable to use with the vpn active but that has not been my experience on numerous devices and accessing numerous app stores so I can’t honestly comment on what happened to you. But if you come across such issues in the future then please come back and give us the details to see if we can duplicate your issue and provide a solution. You should be aware that there are the rare sites that you cannot access with an active VPN, and ones I certainly wouldn’t ever use.

That has not been my experience either. I have an old and new Max, and the Amazon App Store has always loaded and functioned perfectly fine through a VPN (both Express and SS). Very strange bypassing it would solve a no-loading issue. I have, however, had a similar issue when visiting Amazon.com while running SS. Never been sure why, but it usually fixes itself with a refresh and without me having to use the bypasser function.
