Thanks @TROYPOINT for the explanation, and Thanks all for the kind suggestions! I had a gut feeling somethng was going on behind the scenes. As a Licensed Trainer, I also know how hard it is to Create, Test and Roll out the Excellent Tutorials you provide for our Community. I never for a second thought it was something on the ToolBox end, nor something you omitted in the tutorial. Ill keep these âChina Boxesâ and ramp up my efforts at patience!
The Remote does feel kinda âchincyâ but I do like its responsiveness for sure. I just cant wait till Im able to use the toolbox to load Projectivy on the boxes and get rid of the Horrendous default Launcher they come with! Once the web view thing is sorted, Im going to set one up for a neighbor in need. Woo-Hooo!!! ![]()
Hey @Reece the user agents have been allowed again on our web host so hopefully Downloader will work with the TROYPOINT Toolbox and you donât get the 403 Forbidden error anymore.
Please let me know.
You may want to go into Settings/Apps/Downloader and clear cache before trying again.
@TROYPOINT - Its WORKING now!!! - Thanks so much for all you do
Dont feel bad @DaveZerf - I ordered one from there also about the same time. Mine was lost in USPS - Never delivered. Gone - Poof. Much better to get them from Amazon (as others here have mentioned) Lesson Learned. I shall be very cautious of AliExpress and all the other AliBaba stuff from now on.
I have never had an issue with Aliexpress or Alibaba, heck even Temu. I have bought a lot of Aliexpress, and when I contacted them about mine, they offered to replace it or credit me for it. Temu is the same way, I got in to buying clones, copies, counterfeit, how ever you want to look at it, EDC type knives. If there was something off about it and I mentioned it my review and left less than 5 stars they were wanting to make it right by offering me usually started at 15% but if you said no they would give you full credit or probably 80% or so back and no need to return it.
Thanks for this review. I would agree that the Onn 4K boxes are the best alternative for streamers on a budget. Having bought and tried my share of these cheap, generic boxes from China, I have found it is simply better to bite the bullet and spend a bit more to get something with better quality hardware, better cooling, periodic software updates and customer support. In my experience, these cheaper boxes tend not to last due to small processor heatsinks combined with closed plastic casings with inadequate venting, which allows them to overheat.
Thanks @DaveZerf I finally found where to request a refund on there. Hopefully it will come through. I would rather have the box I found though as it was advertised as 16gb Ram. Weird that it got lost in USPS though. Aliexpres and all the alibaba this or that is just too cumbersome to order from for me. All you young-guns have at it! ![]()
Amazon has a ton of cheap china boxes. Much faster shipping and easier/faster returns at Whole Foods or Kohls for instant refunds
You can also contact the seller where you found the refund button?
@SoloWarrior Thanks! Yeah Amazon is sooooo much better especially for this old guyâŠ
have to disagree about the over heating part? i have a X96 Max that troy recommended about 4yr ago still going strong..i have a small fan under it and according to cpu_z it never goes above 80degree wich is excellentâŠused to go to160F before fan..it plays and records 4k video flawlessly using tivimate..i have an unopened nvidia shield in an unopened box waiting for it to die? but that girl keeps on rolling? go fiquire
I contacted them again just did the online support and they put in a dispute and said it should be decided in 3 to 5 day and my refund would show up back in my account in about 10 days.
I reordered the same box from a different vendor and it was less money. Of course I picked up a few knockoff knives while I was ordering. They say this box will be here next week, so probably the week after.
I am not so young anymore, turned 60 last week and most days I feel and move like I am far older than 60.
Never a problem with Aliexpress. I actually tried to buy a Ugoos AM6b+ that I was almost certain was a scam because it was only $50 delivered to the US. It was indeed a scam, and the seller provided a tracking number showing it was delivered to somewhere in California (Iâm in Louisiana). I disputed and had a refund in less than a week with no hassle at all and the seller was booted. Nothing but great service from them. If my experience is any indication they will take care of you.
Today I received a package from an Item I ordered on Ebay that was shipped Sept. 8th and marked as delivered on Sept. 12th. It was only a $4 item, so I didnât even worry about it at the time. No idea where it has been in the last few months or how it was marked delivered. USPS is a roulette wheel.
Yup. Fans are a good idea and help with cooling. I too, had an X96 Max a few years back. 80 degrees Celsius is too hot and eventually, that processor will fail, as mine did. Lots of these cheap China boxes with plastic casings have very little if any vent holes however, and my sad experience has been they eventually cook the processor, which have very small heatsinks to begin with.
I had a chap china box T95Z Plus for almost 10 years. Never shut it off never cleaned it. No problems with over heating or anything. Great box. Iâve moved on to the ONN Pro 4K but the T95Z still works great on Android 7
My X88ProX5M does not run hot at all and I leave it on all the time.
For other boxes that do, I have set them on blocks so they get air flow underneath and that has made a big differnce.
Do I need to follow your âchina boxâ tutorial for a Buzztv android box? I think they are generic (non-google certified). Thanks for all you do, and your great videos!
Hello, here are a couple videos that will help you. The one I put out today can be used as well and these will help as well.
