I have Surfshark. About to expire. Don’t like the renewal cost. Any suggestions on a cheaper replacement?
I’ve heard from peeps here that if you threaten to non-renew, they will give you a deal to stay. Life is a negotiation

If you like surfshark be creative and make a new account with different email so you can get the intro price.

I use IP Vanish, but have the same problem at renewal time. The past two times when renewal was due, I just contacted them and asked for a better deal to stay with them. They have always given me a better deal to stay with them So the above suggestions to contact them and negotiate a better deal are spot on.

As I recall, there have been threads in the past that discuss this. I vaguely recall that if you contact SS and ask for the Troypoint discount they would accommodate with the current discount offered.

My previous experience with IPVanish is that if you call/chat with them and voice your objection to the higher renewal cost, they’ll find a way to “extend” your service at or something close to our current rate.
It’s worth a shot – won’t hurt, might help!

I had exactly the same experience. After a couple of “extensions”, I ultimately ended up going to Surfshark, who, at the time, had more to offer in terms of features.
As others have pointed out, there are options to get better than default renewal pricing if you want to stay with surfshark.
- They will haggle with you and give you a better deal to retain you as a customer. Most common offer is they will give you double the time for the price of the single year renew.
- You can cancel the renewal option. There will likely be a good black Friday promo next week. Just use a different email to sign up for a new multi year promo. I’ve done that 3 times now. Or use Troypoint’s endorsement code and support the site.

OK I found a deal for $2.19 a month. Still I would like to look at my options. Who thinks another VPN is second best?
Got 2 years and 4 months of SS One for $52 and change.

Chat. They offered as soon as I asked for their best deal. Paid for it then turned off auto renewal.

I just got a Surfshark BLACK FRIDAY email offer of $1.69 a month for the Starter plan. $49.01 total for 29 months.
I’ve got about 16 months left on the current plan I have so I have no interest in extending. I SHOULD HAVE originally purchased Surfshark One instead but I’m stuck now.

I chatted about upgrading but it’s not worth it. Next Black Friday I’ll be closer to renewal and I’ll look then.
Good information, thanks! I use DuckDuckGO for web searching. Very useful when shopping for travel. Companies do not know you were on their sites.
