In an effort to digitize, store and play my extensive dvd and Blu-ray collection from one source, I bought the above media server, which is of very high quality and has good reviews. Can anyone at Troypoint do a tutorial on how to burn, transfer and organize your dvds from your PC to either a SATA or HDD storage device for this unit? Unfortunately, there isn’t much available on this either through the internet or the manufacturer so any assistance or advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
I had one of these I think … Does it have internal hdd 3.5 storage?.. mine did. Not enough power for my needs in the ram dept.
It does have both and HDD and SATA drive slots. This unit is a media player and is not for streaming. It is for storage and playback of digital library of your physical media, dvds, blu-rays, etc.
Well built device, Ive thought about trying the one just below it without the hdd slot. Looks mostly same spec wise but without storage inside.
Could you do a tutorial on burning your dvds and transferring them to data drive? Thanks.
didnt keep it long enough, sent it back. Although it appeared to be a nice device personally I found it out dated and below par for my needs.
Hello @sim_bill these vids were originally on YouTube but had to pull all vids in fear of them terminating my channel.
This tutorial is for Blu-ray but DVDs will work too.
Also, probably don’t need a specific drive like I show for DVDs as the protection isn’t as difficult to break.
Flash Blu-ray Drive for Ripping
How to Rip Blu-ray (also works for DVDs)
This is pretty old video but it should give you good idea on how to do it. MakeMKV is good software for this task. I will try to find my newer video on this when back at my PC that holds all of them. I am out of town right now.
