I generated API keys for YouTube following troypoints video… Everytime I log in, gives me API client I’d incorrect error… I’ve copied the keys and I’d right from the computer… Not sure how to fix… Any ideas?
Yeah this is little tricky one. Login to your google account to create an API key, and a Secret key.
I use to have very good video link from Kodi forum but I can’t find the link.
If you followed TP manual it will work but you have to follow the steps correctly. Here is the link. Scroll down to table of contents How to setup the API Key.
YouTube Kodi Add-on And API Key Setup
Otherwise here is another video link but not from TP you can try.
Set-up YouTube API Key
Thanks for the links…I appreciate it… I’ll let u know how it works out…I feel like I followed his steps to the letter and didn’t work… Then I went in and pasted then in plugin through fine manager and didn’t work…
The letters are strange tho, if I look at them through code editor, there are capital I’s and L’s… But if u look at it thru a text editor, they are lower case but the other letters are still capital…
Yes those are very long strings of letters and numbers. When added manually, it’s easy to make a typo.
The link which still couldn’t find, it shows a method how to create wifi “Also it could be trough Lan but required few more steps” connection to your device.
Those including some security settings must be added on both devices “Depends on your device”, and it will allows you to login, then navigate to YouTube add-on from the settings you can copy and paste theys you created.
So does anyone have a combination that still works with youtube plug in to work with a api created and youtube is the 3rd party app. I love fdj.hd add on but it works in tandom with the youtube plug in. And lately I have tried everything. 6 different versions of the plug in off github. Sign in and out back in. Re entered my api stuff. Is it just done for good. Google just had enough?
I just setup the YT Plugin yesterday to use for trailers in addons so the API stuff still works.
I cannot figure out the kodi YouTube addon to get the two applications for APIs
I tried logging in twice, I’ve searched YouTube for instructions, and when I think I have it figured out and try to Sign In I keep getting an error about oath registration or some client error saying not accepted and I’m going out of my mind trying it over and over again with no luck I was trying to install when I updated my kodi 21.1 omega troypoint fork.
Any help, walk-through tutorials would be greatly appreciated and keep me from being picked up and placed in a straight jacket!
I’m having same problem
I’ve tried everything you have tried and I still cannot sign-in or use YouTube plugin with kodi 21.1 omega for android tv box (onn 4k pro box)
When you figure it out let me know. Been looking for this solution since about 2016 . But then again not a big deal. Use Youtube daily on my PC but on my TV? Not so much
Would uninstalling YouTube on my streaming device get rid of this error message? I really don’t use YouTube on my streaming device and am tired of getting the message.
@Tjazz380 @MarkxG I realized the YouTube kodi plugin I couldn’t get to work is actually under DEPENDENCIES while installing the UMBRELLA kodi add-on.
I now see that the YouTube dependency is OPTIONAL! I’m so dumb I thought it was necessary instead of optional. Now I don’t have to waste my time or your time or anyone else’s time trying to help me figure this out. I apologize for wasting your time, but want to Thank You for taking your time to try to help me out!!!
Anyone else have any suggestions? When I login to Kodi where I’m running the Diggs build, everytime I go to search for a movie, show, etc, I get that annoying message about YouTube API keys. I really don’t even use YouTube on my Android box.
I just tested and my trailers was working on my Onn Pro. I pressed up fron the movie icon. I also long pressed and selected Play Trailer.
Check the following…
Are you running AIO Diggz 2.1?
Are you logged into youtube on your device?
I think previous builds had an issue with the API but i think the latest build found a solution. At least for now.
No I don’t use Youtube on my MeCool device, that’s why it’s so irritating
Thats probably the problem. Not really sure how API keys work but i think you need to be logged into YT in order for them to play. Someone will probably correct me.
I know its annoying but when it wasnt working for me i just opened smarttube and searched for the trailer. Then went back to kodi.
I know things have been posted before on this topic but seeing if anyone has any new info. I use Kodi 21.2 with the Diggs build. Everything works great but when I go to search for a particular movie, eventually I will get the popup “Unfortunately YouTube now requires an API key” or something similar. The thing is I DON’T use Youtube and it’s really annoying to have to dismiss this message everytime. Would uninstalling YouTube help? Or maybe there’s a way to shut off these pop up messages? Ughhh
Which Diggz build and version?
Are you trying to watch a trailer or just search a movie? Ive seen that error before but i thought it was fixed when trying to view a trailer.
If just searching where are you searching from in the build?
It’s the latest Diggs build, don’t remember the number. When you get to home page, scroll over to Movies and then down below that, search
