Why am I having to Clear my Cache so often all of a sudden?
Different possible root causes.
Kodi and many of it’s 3rd party add-ons are notorious for memory leaks, residual storage hogs. If you’re getting increased frequency of having to clear cache, clearing up addition overhead room in your storage can help with cache clears.
Make sure you also exit Kodi from the power menu rather than returning to home screen. Power exit Kodi every time you’re done with use.
Some add-ons are just worse than others with their 3rd party cache usage, both in resident memory and storage. Have you recently installed a new addon that may have triggered elevated clears?
Also try EZ Maintenance. It can be used for automated clears and other uses.
Ever since I started using 20, I’ve had to clear cache and force stop in manage apps. Sometimes it will work with normal power off, but most of time won’t reopen unless I force stop. I’ve had issues that i didn’t have with 19.
Buffering for temporary relief. Cache will start repopulating the very second you clear it. The way to stop cache from repopulating in apps is the force stop them and then clear cache. However, once you open an app again it will immediately repopulate the cache.
Bottom line, force stop all apps you are not actively using and clear cache.
I get my EZ maintenance from The Warehouse repo. The Warehouse repo also has The Promise for tv/movies. and the 3 major subtitles addons. I love repos that have 2 or 3 addons installed that I use. Saves space and time.
