Actually the 25 down works well and we have very little problems with it. I could go as much as 100 down but would be paying far more than now at $69/month. I do have issues with 4K buffering but then my eyesight is not that good and really can’t see the difference. I think my LG shows very good quality at 1080p. I have my name on list for Starlink but after reading tons of comments about how a lot of people are disappointed I’ll probably pass. However for those out there that have basically nothing like Hughes or others, they are beyond just happy. So speed is relative to what you need and faster doesn’t mean better
I’ve not seen anyone disappointed in starlink. I personally know those who have it, in remote areas, with speeds around 230 down that’s amazing, and they’re very happy.
Miki, hate to tell you but there are a lot of people really disappointed with Starlink. Go on Reddit and you will read lots of comments. Now, after saying that it comes down to over inflated expectations from people. They read about people getting downloads of 200-300m but get way less than that. I don’t think a lot of people realize is that Starlink was developed for those in very rural areas with very few choices. So when they get many signal losses over an hour period they get upset. Gamers seem to be having they biggest problems, that latency thing. Reliability is the biggest complaint. One minute you’ll get pretty good download speeds then without warning it drops down to almost nothing. Also there are those out there that are just over joyed with their 20-50 speeds because they were on dial-up speeds. My service is really reliable and cheaper so I’m the guy that Starlink isn’t really marketed to. Besides faster speeds don’t really mean much unless there is a houseful of people all on the system at once. I’m just glad that people have options now
Ya same here. I don’t need Starlink. I’m just going by those I know who actually have and use Starlink daily. Although only 3, all are very happy with their service. Always going to be whiners and complainers.
Re: Starlink…Just looked up how many starlink satellites are orbiting…looks like a skosh over 2k of them. Elon has the okey dokey to put up 12k…but he’s put in a request for permits on a total of 30k…so, depending on how the final coverage will look…there may be room for improvement/coverage of those that are having problems. I’m not smart enough to plot out total global coverage without any gaps, or only gaps in unpopulated areas of the planet…but with only about 7% orbiting…it looks like there is a lot of room for improvement. I wonder if there are disclaimers for those getting in “early” before the configuration is totally complete…or, whatcha’ got is as good as it gets…
I use firestick 3rd gen and my speed is only 200meg down and only 20meg up with virgin media but only £29.99 month thought mine was a decent speed but yours is lightning fast but bet your monthly bill is alot higher
I hate you!! Just kidding
Old thread still… What do the bottom four numbers on analiti mean? Thanks.
Sorry are you referring to the “Ping”? If so it’s basicaly the time it takes to send a packet to a location and have it return. I should have mentioned ms is miliseconds and generally goes from 10 to 300. Of coarse the lower the number the quicker keystrokes and info exchanges go. Oh and there are 1000 MS in a second.
