kodi says my speed is not fast enough, what speed do I need?
Technically, you only need 30-50Mbps to stream 4k content. However, that really isn’t the whole story. We are going to need a lot more information. Where in Kodi does it tell you this? When Kodi first boots? When opening an add-on? Which add-on? What speed is your internet service? Do you use a VPN? If so, what VPN? What device are you using? Is it hardwired or connected via wifi?
thanks for the reply, I see a lot of information is gonna be needed just to get a proper answer
1 there is a flag that comes out on screen top right occasonally that says I do not have enough download speed I guess, hard to figure out what gives, I have up to 300mbps without the vpn, with the vpn around 100mbps
2 the usual add on I see it on is CREW, which then goes on to say no streams or links available, don’t know if its speed or what?
3 I am using zoog vpn on spectrum with my Firestick, it is not hardwired I use wifi along with real debride and peimium
its really baffling
any advice would be appreciated
i could be wrong but try picking a smaller link instead of picking a link that is 25gb maybe try picking one that is 5gb and see what happens that has happen to me if i pick a link that is too big i get not fast enough pick smaller link and works great also do you have updated version of crew is real debride up to date also
Your speed through the VPN at 100Mbps is definitely fast enough. To Joe’s point above, what type of sources are you selecting after RD finds them? Are you trying to stream the highest 4k ones? Have you tried the lower 4k and little higher 1080p sources to see if that helps?
Many of the larger 4K source files have higher fidelity audio tracks baked in. If you have no benefit of streaming a source with some high bitrate audio, stick with the smaller size 4K files.
I completely agree with choosing links with smaller size. I used to keep everything under 2gbps but found that with my Nvidia shield TV pro i can go up to 6. I just use the highest quality link that is around that size. And i have a downstream rate of 300mbps with Surfshark on
