What streaming box is easiest to sideload?

#2 on my list. Which streaming device should I get and where should I install the VPN? As I’ve aged technology has quickly passed me by. Years ago when I thought our high speed internet was coming I started looking here at Troypoint and dug into the Firesticks and purchased two 4K units and even went so far as doing the sideload for what was recommended at the time. I haven’t got a clue what is on there or as I need to start all over again. (They are actually digging and laying down the cable.) So I’m ready to go again and I want to get the latest and greatest. Thanks

I would do a search here. Many similar questions, like yours, have been asked and answered. All about how much you are willing to spend.

As mentioned above all that can be answered with a search. Infact streaming devices is in the top 10 clicked and searched.

Your 4Ks will work OK…

I’ve had Firsticks since gen 2 and only lately have I had problems. The Latest Firestick 4k max seems to have some issue causing it to either build up or simply show very little available storage space even with only one 5mb sideloaded app installed.
I reset it to factory standards after receiving the Low Storage warning, installed only the one app and it shows only 154mb available storage. Doing research, it seems to be a recurring problem. I have a Firestick 4k connected to another TV with many more apps installed and still show 2.54GB available.
Word to the wise.

You must have a bad Max. I program them almost daily for ppl and have never had any issue with space. Sorry I don’t have any suggestions short of optimizing the Max and turning off the ads, data, and other stuff to limit the interference.

Anything that isn’t Amazon. And if you have a router you can run a VPN on that would be best.

You can use 4k Max’s still, sounds like you need to do some maintenance on the Max. But yes many devices at all price ranges so search is a must.

imho the easiest to work with are stock boxes. ugoos, mecool, formuler and buzztv to name a few.

Thank you all. I really appreciate your comments and suggestions. At this point I think I’ll go with the Firestick 4K that I already have on the living room tv and wait until this next weekend to see what Troy has to say about that new BuzzTV. It seems that the cost of the Formuler, the Buzztv and the (wait a second I’m having a senior moment) Nvidia are about the same and all very upscale. They should handle anything I would come up with and that one would go in the Cave where the viewing wouldn’t be so mainstream. Thanks again.
