Ok, so here I sit and looking for something to watch and leaning towards a Western and up for suggestions…rattle my brain… …what are some classics I have forgot?
My Dad loved old westerns. These were a few of his favorites:
True Grit with John
Few Dollars More
Rio Bravo
A Fistfull of Dollars
Two Mules for Sister Sarah.
Silverado (1985)
Lonesome Dove (1989) The best!
Legends of the Fall (1994)
Open Range (2003)
Seraphim Falls (2006)
3:10 to Yuma (2007)
A Night in Old Mexico (2013)
The Hateful Eight (2015)
Outlaw Josey Wales
True Grit Original
Paint Your Wagon
Blazing Saddles
Sorry didn’t adhere to the year parameter
Unless it’s legal we can’t name where to get them.
Pale Rider w Clint…nothing else comes close…lol
El Dorado is a good one
Tombstone! You’re a daisy if you do! Val Kilmers best part ever.
I agree about Val, he made that movie…perfect Doc
1959 The Searchers ,John Wayne
I second the Lonesome Dove nomination. I recently rewatchd the miniseries, one of the first mini’s offered on TV IIRC. Brilliant performances by the whole cast, a lot of those were or became A-list stars.
This was my Mom’s favorite movie in the whole world. She had Alzheimer’s and would forget that she had seen it, so we’d watch it again and again. Precious memories for sure.
My most favorite are Rio Bravo, The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, Little Big Man, Blazing Saddles, and The Shootist - all from before 1980, though.
My modern day choices would be Tombstone, The Quick & the Dead (the Sharon Stone one), Unforgiven, and the mini-series True Women (Angelina Jolie, Annabeth Gish, Dana Delaney); oh, and The Long Riders, which is from 1980!
for modern day I like “Forsaken” staring Donald and Keifer Sutherland,
open range
unforgiven
and from 1976 the outlaw joesy wales
The good the bad and the ugly
