I have tried jiopages, tvbro and tvbrowser… i cannot set a homepage. I want to make thetvapp the home page, so when my non technically inclined parents and friends, click on the icon… the website launches… making it almost like an app. any suggestions on a browser that will let me do that… or some solutions for one of the browsers already mentioned

You can make an app for the web stream using the TV App Repo. can even make a customized app shortcut so it will appear on your home page favorites and in your apps page.
I don’t know if it is possible to auto open that app on startup. However, you can auto start the Tivimate app.

If you do go this route and make a shortcut app. Then you can set it to Always Open for the browser you select. I use TVBro as my browser of choice, but you can use whichever one you like.
i got the weblink shortcut created. it put it on the home scree, when i go to launch it, it says “you dont have an app that can do this”. I cannot find a setting to tell it which browser to use i used the tv app repo

Did you use the TV App Repo to create your shortcut?
It takes about 20 seconds for it to generate the app so be patient. Also, you do not have to make a customized app and just use the generic one that the TV App Repo generated.
Keep in mind, if you choose the ‘ALWAYS’ option then the selection box will no longer appear and the app will open to the web stream page when clicked on.
You have to have a browser installed! I use TVBro.

i am using an onn walmart box. have several browsers installed. i will try uninstalling all. then install just tvbro and try creating new link. and apparently i need a new keyboard because my space bar is sticking lol thanks for the detailed advice. hope it helps some others too!
