Free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) services have become a major player in the entertainment industry. These services have attracted millions of users with the promise of free access to a vast array of movies, TV shows, and live TV (IPTV). Platforms like Pluto TV, The Roku Channel, and Samsung TV Plus have gained immense popularity…

Ahh, this sucks. Use various channels like this in my playlist. Seems like always a workaround after awhile.

It was only a matter of time since when they first took down Pluto a long while ago.

These m3u8’s even though they are merely streaming FREE content. That content is not theirs to do as they wish. All these “free” apps have ads. These ads are MONEY to the people who own and operate Pluto, Samsung, etc. The m3u8’s basically circumvented that ad money. That is why the inevitable was surely going to happen.

The m3u8 is dead. Long live the m3u!

F.A.S.T. RIP

FYI, My Plex m3u8 is still alive, but Samsung and Pluto are dead.

Im a little confused but that is not hard to do. These apps will still exist, right?

Were Pluto and Samsung, etc showing unauthorized copyrighted material or was this guy using their apps to add his own unauthorized tv/movies?

They all have ads but the original CW holder wasnt see any $?

The apps are legal, but the pirated m3u8 are not.

Youn can still download all the apps like Pluto, Plex, Samsung, etc and stream them from their respective apps. The m3u8’s we loaded into our respective iptv players will not work any longer…or soon will not work.

Gotcha… thanks.

so is the difference that the m3u8 streams did not have the commercials and the advertisers got upset?

The m3u8’s at most had commercial pauses in place of an actual ad. I am certain cutting out the commercials was for legal reasons. Personally, I didn’t like those “pauses”. I’d just a soon would prefer a commercial instead of stupid pauses, lol.

Most likely the owners of Pluto, Samsung, et al were the ones upset. It’s their property to do as they wish. Seems they don’t wish to allow a m3u8 dev to take and use their product without their permission.

Bottom line the owners of Pluto, Samsung, etc want you to use their standalone proprietary apps.

I only used the m3u8’s because I could load them into my Tivimate for my convenience. I rarely used those playlists, but they were nice to have onboard if I ever found a reason to use them.

Now, most likely, I will never use the apps because I don’t jump around too much. I open Tivimate and use that for most of my viewing needs. The only time I leave Tivimate is to watch a VOD movie or show on Syncler+.

I think the reason they were upset was because they weren’t getting any ad revenue for the m3u8 viewers. They paid to air them so they could charge to show ads in them.

They can can only negotiate a price per ad spot based on viewers. And the m3u8 viewers aren’t counted.

At least that how i $ee it.

Its free content anyway so its not a really big deal to the end user.

Good point.

If anyone needs the Pluto channels, go to TechdoctorUK on downloader, tutorials, “Over 10,000 live channels (2024 update)” then take the then take the “8” off with X-Plore, to make it m3uu. They are still good. Watching right now. Hope this helps some people. Love the Troypoint community!

That url TD gives is not the Pluto url or any of the other url from the i.mjh.nz playlists, but the url TD lists does carry the Pluto channels and other F.A.S.T. channels. This is a playlist from a Github site.

However, it does work, and it will download all countries (about 240 countries/groups). The US group contains 1,762 channels, CA has 156 channels, and the UK has 206 channels. Note: came across many channels that didn’t load.

Also, he doesn’t list an epg source, but the github site, I believe, (haven’t looked lately) does have an epg for your chosen countries.

Btw, I would suspect since Matt got a takedown order this github site will be soon to follow.

Personally. I don’t know if I want to take the time to create groups and favorites. Let alone fishing around for epgs.

Anyway, enjoy it while it lasts.

Btw, Plex is still working from Matt’s urls.

Oh, forgot to mention, you can go to the github site and download only the countries you are interested in rather than downloading every country in the world. lol

Agree, it’s just too much of a hassel…Just grab a legit app. Sling has several fast channels for free as well as tablotv and you can record them(tablotv unlimited recording)

Today I mistakenly cleared my “data” instead of “cache” on TiviMate and thus had to reload my playlists. The m3u8 SamsungTVPlus would not load. But I checked my wife’s Samsung television and they were still all there. Maybe a special deal and not an m3u8 on the Samsung televisions?

it was the: http://i.mjh.nz/SamsungTVPlus/us.m3u8 that I tried to re-load on TiviMate

I believe how it was explained above by @Powerfader, the legit apps will still work as before. Your wifes samsung tv should have Samsung TV plus working as they provide it.

TiViMate is not an authorized provider.

Using it on an unauthorized device/apk will be shut down most likely. Even though its a free service it is still theirs to provide.

Pluto / Samsung / Stirr / Plex / PBS / Roku - Playlists Removed [DMCA] #127

Pluto / Samsung / Stirr / Plex / PBS / Roku - Playlists Removed [DMCA] · Issue #127 · matthuisman/i.mjh.nz (github.com)

FYI, I believe the Apsattv.com is gone, too.

Inevitable I guess, and I hope this isn’t the case with iptv subs in the future. Always will be work arounds…right?

I watched the STVPLUS so little that I can’t even remember if there were commercials. If there are, then that would explain how Samsung gets away with it. Guess I’ll still have to endure the theme song of Jamie Oliver (cooking show) that my wife watches playing in the background on her Samsung tv (Plus). I also suspect someone will come up with a work around so that we still have access to these playlists on our devices.

You can find matthuisman crating an alternative approach to utilize Samsung TV Plus for the Channels app here: Samsung TV Plus for Channels - Playground / Custom Channels - Channels Community (getchannels.com)

Most relevant information is at the bottom. After getting a one month free subscription of Channels, and running the proper applications to create a local m3u Samsung TV Plus link on my machine, then adding it to the Channels DVR Server… it worked. Not user friendly, pain in the ass to get there, even with some computer experience. Channels GUI is so-so. Not recommened.

All I got for now, please share your alternatives!

My i.mjh.nz Plex m3u8 is still working, but this morning it wouldn’t update. So, I figure is dying a slow death.
