I use TDUK Cache Cleaner and TDUK App Cleaner which I purchased from Google Play store. They are not free but very cheap. Cleans all background apps and cache in a couple of clicks. Amazon have recently disabled them but they still work fine on my Onn Box (original one)
Thanks much @ibk75
Exactly what I do
Sounds like you were low on storage. The download started then stopped when full . With zero space left in storage the OA wonāt run. So a reset holding the button down on the side of the box where the light is . Good luck
Hi @ibk75. I downloaded the two TDUK Cleaners to my ONN 4K android box, but I only see them advertised as Firestick apps. So I uninstalled for fear that I might screw up my ONN android system. Are there any other suggestions for apps that can do the same debloat/clean tool and the cache cleaning tool?
Thanks in advance
Hi. Just read your post. I downloaded and installed both apps via the Google Play Store. (for Onn 4k box, original generation). I checked this morning and they are still available on the UK Google Play Store. I can assure you both apps work fine on this Onn Box. You need to ensure that ADB Debugging is enabled in the developer settings.
Hi @ibk75. When I downloaded the TDUK apps I was trying to follow instructions about ADB Debugging, but couldnāt find ADB anywhere on my ANDROID ONN 4K. I donāt have Firestick, so do you or anyone else tell me how to find ADB ?
Thanks for your responses and advice
You need to turn on Developer Options to gain access to ADB Debugging.
Go to Settings/Device Preferences/About
Scroll down to Build, and click on it repeatedly (7 times IIRC) until you see the notification bubble saying you are a developer. Back out and see that Developer Options is available under Device Preferences.
@hittingthree I did turn on Developer Options and it tells me I am a developer. Problem is I canāt find the ADB Debugging after backing out.
How and where do I access ADB Debugging? And what steps would I need to take if I find ADB Debugging? Iām sorry for being such a bother but Iām not technically inclined and I feel quite foolish, Iām sorry. Iāve never had the ONN 4K Android TV Box and I get lost
Go to settings, Scroll down to Device Preferences, then scroll down to Developer Options. Make sure that Developer Options is enabled, Scroll down to USB Debugging and enable. The TDUK apps should now work.
I have 3 Onn devices including the google tv one. I can not figure out how to adjust the screen size to fit the tv. I canāt adjust the tv because I have 3 other different devices connected to my tv that fit the screen .
If you have KODI installed, you can use the screen calibration tool within KODIās video settings to adjust your screen dimensions. You might need to set the settings level to expert to get access to the tool. IIRC, that adjustment held for the home screen and for the other apps on the ONN device.
I posted the same when I first got it last December. They did not add that option, quite stupid of them so true, unless an app will over ride it and you play in a smaller screen, things will slightly overlap the screen. This has been my only complaint about my Onn box but honestly, watching something, makes it not matter for that small part you miss.
This might work for you. Go to device preferences, Display and then Screen resolution and then Display mode.It gives you 3 choices, 1080p-720p and 480p
Go to Settings>Device Preferences>Display>Screen Position>Then select Zoom in or Zoom out screen as necessary
I use the tduck cleaner and it works very wellā¦
