Walmart ONN Android TV Box Rocking It

Ahahahaha…

My $20 Onn just tested out at about double the highest download speed that any other device I’ve tried, including my Mecool KM6 Deeeeeluxe. :smile:

Hey Miki
the onn’s are way cheaper? at least here in the states?
can you order from wallyworld online from the states?

By the time I pay delivery and import fees then taxes it will cost me $95/U.S. No thanks. But I sure appreciate your suggestion. I’m checking friends to see if anyone is coming down here and can bring me one.
Just to give you an idea of what we’re up against down here. I ordered some electronic stuff and some keen hiking sandals, total value $400/U.S.D. My final bill with delivery, taxes, import fees and exchange was $685 CDN.

@Papatito

If you are talking about rooting it does look possible, but if you are a novices user i wouldn’t attempt it.

Hey @Papatito Yes…you can do just about anything you want with the ONN boxes…anything in particular?

Can u jailbreak the ONN like like I did with the firestick
Thanks

Yes you can…it’s just google certified so amazon stuff you’ll have to download…it won’t have amazon store & prime etc loaded like the firesticks do.

To be kind of technical about it, what people are calling “jailbreaking” a firestick is only allowing unknown sources & debugging. In that regard, yes it can be, and it’s easier, IMO.

Same thing for any device. jaibreaking is a bad term, but one that stuck.

My apologies, in my head jailbreaking is rooting to me, allowing 3rd party apps is possible on the onn. Same process as the others.

Infortunately it’s become a catch all word for simply being able to load 3rd party apps.

@Miki

Aha yea, i used to unlock frimware on consoles and “jailbreak” windows and software, thats what we called jailbreaking. Aha all good, just my head always goes to that.

@TP-Dracoo And imho it should, as that’s true jailbreaking. I’m with you.

I love the ONN and i’m glad i’m not the only one. I have been using FS when they first came out. My TV in the family room has a FS 4K OS6 with USB memory in HDMI1 and an ONN with USB in HDMI2.

Yeah, I think I’ve had every generation of FS. Right now, my Max & 4Ks are cooling their heels behind my TV. They’re in a timeout! :grin:

Same here and I love the Max. My favourite by far.
