Walmart Onn 4K Pro Review & Guides

Thanks for the response, Can POE be used?

From my quasi-diligent research, I have found that yes, Power over Ethernet (PoE) can indeed be utilized with the Onn 4K Pro streaming device, PROVIDED you use the proper PoE to USB converter You CAN NOT just use the ethernet alone, as the device has to be powered through it’s dedicated usb-c port.
Although I have not used it, this setup allows you to power the device while also maintaining data connectivity, and a solid through-put:

How to Implement PoE

To use PoE with the Onn 4K Pro, follow these steps:

  1. Obtain a PoE Injector: This device adds power to the Ethernet cable.

  2. Use a PoE-to-USB Converter (linked above): This converter will connect to the Onn 4K Pro’s USB port, supplying power while allowing data to flow through the Ethernet connection.

  3. Connect the Equipment:

    • Run a Cat5e or higher Ethernet cable from the PoE injector to the PoE-to-USB converter.
    • Connect the USB output of the converter to the Onn 4K Pro.

Benefits of Using PoE

  • Single Cable Solution: PoE allows both power and data to be transmitted over one cable, reducing clutter.
  • Flexibility: You can place the Onn 4K Pro in locations without nearby power outlets.

By following these steps, you can effectively power your Onn 4K Pro using PoE technology. If you plan on using the Onn device somewhere that power is not available, or instead of running an extension cord, this may be a viable option for you. Good Luck, Hope this helps. Stay safe &
