You could have always set it up even without a router. I’ve covered this topic more times than I can count and all you never needed to do, was use a hotspot with the VPN set to the USA. Didn’t matter your phone, computer, or tablet. Worked perfectly. Using the VPN on the Onn could never work unfortunately. These or your router was the only way.

I installed an ONN on our TV and it immediately recognized the TV and claimed it paired up. The volume works fine and you can shut off the tv but it will not turn back on when you press the on/off button. I then have to use the tv remote to turn it back on then have total control with the ONN remote. Any ideas how to fix this problem. Thank you,
I had to set mine twice to get it to work. In Android settings>>>Remotes and Accessories>>>set up remote buttons….make sure you see your tv listed if not click add device. If it is listed, click on it and click set up buttons. Even if you see the check mark for power, re-do it again. …. worked for me the 2nd time.
Speculation that the discounts and recent widespread inventory shortages are precursors to the introduction of an Onn 4k Pro replacement later this year. See article on AFTVNews last week.
I live in the UK, bought a couple of Onn 4K pro when I was in the states in 2024, they work perfectly here. I bought another when I was over in September 2025, it’s geo locked to USA so no use to me in the UK, no mention of geo locking on the box or anything. Is there a way I can override the geo locking. if not, UK buyers beware.
I absolutely did post a ton on it and even the directions from Surfshark as to how to set up a hotspot on a PC etc as their hotspot won’t work on mobile devices. I hope they fix that. I’m would guess many other VPN hotspots do. Your Onn will work 100% there and after the intitial setup, use any VPN site you wish, it matters not, BUT, I do recommend that if you use a USA one, you get a different user interface and tons of programming that you otherwise just won’t. I use a USA VPN on all of mine. Sorry not sorry I was not here, I was in the Land that Miki came back from for a week, first time ever. I also can’t contribute as I used to based on our limitations so I do what I can. Cheers.

The ONN plus controller doesn’t have STOP, FFWD or REVERSE buttons. How do you FF using Stremio? Also, using the TALK button in Stremio SEARCH takes you to a different search. You need to type the SEARCH words to stay in the app. What am I doing wrong?

Microphone button in search working fine for me on my Onn Android TV Box. The key is that you must actually click the search button and then the microphone icon on the screen to the left of the search box. You can’t just click the microphone button on your remote control as this is used for universal search through Google Assistant.
It’s a little glitch I think but sometimes when you do that search in Stremio using the Mic, it does in fact return a result other than expected. In other words, perhaps something from a pay streaming service instead of something you can stream from within the app. Onn pro or 4K . It’s all I use for the most part. Due to that, I may try voice once but more often use either the remote or my bluetooth keyboard to just get it right the first time.
I tried to do a site search for this issue that I’m experiencing but I’m not having any luck finding anything on this issue. However for some reason I can’t find a compatible version of CinemaHD for my Onn 4k Pro. I download the apk from APKTime and it says it was successfully installed. But then the shortcut to open it is nowhere to be found in my applications. I’ve also noticed this happening with a few other apks. But can someone help me with this issue and potentially help me with obtaining the correct apk for CinemaHD?
