VPN vs App Tracking Blocker

I always use a VPN when streaming on my FireStick, but go back and forth between a VPN and DuckDuckGo’s app tracking blocker on my phone. I couldn’t get a sufficient answer to my question from DuckDuckGo or IPVanish when I contacted them. I generally stay connected to the app tracking blocker on my phone unless I am going to download something. It’s amazing on the amount of companies that are blocked on my phone when using the app tracking blocker. IPVanish claimed they block trackers also, but I see that DuckDuckGo even blocks trackers on my IPVanish app. Any useful information on the subject would be appreciated.

I would trust a vpn over a blocker because the blocker might not be up to date and also could be a deciple of the google overlord and do as they are told. Just sayin’
