Thank you @TP-Brett ![]()
Installed VPN Privacy Dot on two Fire TV Cubes. Was working great for several days. Now both apps show alternating green connected then red disconnected, then green connected then red disconnected. IPVanish shows connected but Privacy Dot seems confused now. Tried turning off and on a couple times. Will have to uninstall and reinstall.
VPNPrivacyDot WILL NOT install on new ONN 4k Plus box…
Get message that says “This app isn’t compatible with your TV”
I have no issue on $20 Onn 4K device.
App is downloaded from Troy point toolbox, as I did when I set up $20 Onn 4k device.
I prefer this app over Monitor Dot
Your suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you
I use both an Onn 4k and an Onn Pro. A number of months ago the Privacy dot stopped working on the pro but no problem on the older 4k. I believe there was an update to the Onn that is no longer compatible with it. It was my choice but I use the orginal You can also use the one from the Playstore in basic mode. It works fine but may ask you to upgrade a few times a week and you just dismiss and it continues to work. I’m guessing the new Onn has the same issues as the Pro.
If it works, I would like to use it as well. It was my first choice when they both came out. ** Well so much for that since you just deleted your post about the developers website. ![]()
I would think that Troy would have the latest and greatest in the toolbox.
I deleted it because I was talking about the monitor dot, I was going to find the info about that and noticed that it was the VPN Privacy Dot, it won’t install on the 4k Plus. I deleted the message then
Thanks for your replies…
To Miki :
Sorry if I posted in the wrong place?
I did a search on the topic before I posted and nothing came up.
I guess I need to learn how to use the search feature better ![]()
I didn’t know there was a vpn monitor app in the google playstore - what is the name of it?
On my system it’s called VPNsafetydot and this is the original one that was free then went to a paid version. That is when the two other dots were quickly written and posted. You can use it in the basic mode for free still.
If you can’t find it there, you can go directly to their site. https://vpnsafetydot.com/
It was working fine, then all of a sudden it was frozen in the bottom left. I restarted he box and went to change some settings, but it won’t let me make any changes and it’s not working either.
I uninstalled it, went to the toolbox and reinstalled it but it’s still not letting me make any changes and it still isn’t working.
Using a T95Z w/Proton VPN.
@OldManBryson ….i don’t have an answer for ya except i tried to visit the web site for the privavy dot and it won’t open for me (cloudfare error 522) and i also messaged the inventor jiaiop, who is/or maybe was a member here….waiting to hear back….
It wouldn’t install on my T95Z Plus box either.
Try this one. It’s what I’ve used for years.
VPN Monitor Dot has 2 versions - one for the Amazon FireTV devices and one for other android devices. One won’t work on the other and vice versa. Neither work on the T95Z Plus box.
The version for “Android/Google TV” should work on that box. What happens exactly when you try to install it? Please reboot your box prior to installing it.
After installation, you try to run it and all you get is a blank screen. Just the T95Z Plus box.
What version of Android is running in that box?
Also see if you can go into settings using this path:
Settings…. Apps…. “Special app access”…. “Display over other apps”….(monitor dot) ….. and set to “Allow”
