Vpn on libreelec

I am setting up a Raspberry 4 with Librelec. I have a subscription to Surfshark. Is the best way to setup the VPN is to go into Kodi - Download the Repo that I want, and then install the zromboid (sp) app and setup from there? I recently installed the Libreelec on a Raspberry 3 - then installed Diggz repo, and the VPN would not start from Libre, so I had to install the addon once I had the Diggz repo up and running. Just trying to learn what is the best way to get the VPN up and running.

If its android you might be able to sidload the apk. If not you will need a router/vpn

I assume I can load the openvpn through kodi ??
