problem with smarters pro-got resoved but they claim i cannor use vpn
that i have for years-
do not use or use dedicated 1 site rhey claim
anybody else encounter this
or should i change iptv any suggestions
If an IPTV provider is giving you this much hassle, they are probably cowboys. Get rid and pay for a reputable service.
Vpn most definitely needed especially with iptv. find a new provider
I agree for the protection you get and what you pay it’s well worth it and as far as I am concerned is as important as having a good box.
I use one no matter what. Always good to cover your ass just in case. There are reputable services out there but some not so much. Unless you do research and verify theyre good . Then up to you if you need one or not. But again you ISP may throttle speeds when streaming all day so that hides you from them as well.
Hope that helps
Use one, iptv providers can see everything you are doing. If they tell you no, move on.
i only use ipvanish for my torrent downloads as my internet provider was blocking my access to the internet and sending me nasty notes about downloading unlawfull content…blah…blah
i have never used it to stream content from my 2 iptv providers and i’ve never had a problem
i forgot to turn on my kill switch in ipvanish one night about a month ago and got a warning about torrent downloads the next morning? never a warning about my iptv providers in 5yrs?..go figure?
My 2c - find a new provider. Anything I do on the “fringe” I flip on the VPN considering the world we live in. I have had this “hobby” (and a plethora of IPTV services) for 5+ years and anytime a provider suggests/mandates no VPN I move on. Better safe than sorry - the potential fines will consume any savings you have seen over your traditional cable company and if you already have a VPN why risk it?
why find a new provider? as long as i mask my ip while
downloading movies to my hard drive and i don’t for iptv to decrease buffering as i record alot of iptv content and never have a prob in 5yrs?
yo dude…i go all the way back to hacking spectrum when you could buy a box to bypass the screen going in and out 2001
i did direct tv cards for yrs …i’ll take my chances…so far so good
My buddy was also hacking and decoding channels way back when as well until he received subpoena from a premium movie channel and his options were to write a check for $10K or go to court and potentially lose his DoD security clearance. My message to the OP was just because someone says you dont require something however with all of the data and information we have about the increase “awareness” surrounding streaming coupled with the plethora of providers why would you risk it. This becomes an ROI equation and for me this risk outweighs the reward - and I would find a new provider that doesnt buffer with my VPN.
It’s all a matter of choice, however I guess if the OP was confident he wouldnt have posed the question. All personal preference - to each his/her own.
Happy Streaming…
Yep and i remember those letters demanding payment from DTV ,i only paid for my hardware to do cards w an online CC that was linked to another account and i never recieved one
as a retired air force veteran i knew all the hoops to stay clear and i can still go to the local base and buy goods 35% cheaper than regular stores have
no vpn for streaming for 5yrs and still good to go?
@Comtech, glad to hear you have been free and clear. As a personal preference I prefer to use a VPN with all application’s I deem potentially risky and would not use an IPTV provider that suggested the contrary. OP asked for your opinion as much as mine and now they have both and can form their own opinions and make their decision based upon the facts presented to them.
From my perspective topic closed, have a great day and happy streaming.
I personally will never connect to the net without a VPN. Identity theft alone is reason enough. Some like the thrill of playing games that can result in extremely negative outcomes. I prefer not to play Russian Roulette. But to each their own.
Have fun and STREAM ON.
i have ipvanish on my computer and laptop as it’s illegal to download copy righted material and i collect alot of movies and tv shows to burn to disc for my library
i don’t have it on my 3 streaming devices and i record live shows just fine…never a peep from my provider, but if i download a movie to my hard drive on my computers without ipvanish active…my provider has a letter and warning coniption,so i always us a vpn for torrent downloads but not for streaming, works for me
I’ve never been concerned about getting a copyright infringement letter. The reason I use a VPN is solely for anonymity. Talk to anyone who has been the victim of identity theft or bank fraud. No way I’d leave any network, let alone a WiFi network, open to certain unscrupulous individuals to peruse at their leisure.
VPN is definitely needed for your protection while streaming any iptv service. If yours is telling you not to, get another service. The only safe way out of using a vpn is to pay full freight each month for a service like UtubeTV, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Apple TV, etc. VPN service is worth it.
Some IPTV service providers include a VPN with their service HOWEVER i would still advise to use your own. I’ve used NordVPN for years with no problems on any device i’ve used it on.
As far as i know, streaming IPTV is not illegal but downloading & sharing copyrighted material is.
