VPN kill switch for TV streaming

I’m not sure what this thread is about

I use to think that way about 25-30 yrs ago when I had a torrent site and connections to “the scene”. Then uploaders competed to be the first to upload a release. All for a rep. But now I prefer quality over speed of release and I no longer delve into the “scene”. I love keeping it simple and watching a good release. Also being retired I no longer get a thrill out of being first. Simply isn’t relevent.

Who is giving you Axxhole responses? I’ll have a word with him/her. Just a quick question, do your odd responses actually have anything to do with VPN kill switch?
No idea how or why gender was brought into this thread but please stop, it has no place in this thread or on this site.

What remote have you found to be the best at being a single use?
I currently have the following.
Samsung remote for the flat screen
Nivida remote for the shield
Yamaha remote for the surround sound
logi remote for the sub woofer
Rii mini keyboard for doing installs

I have a Ugoos, Shield Pro and Firestick remotes. So far I have found the best one to be from the shield. I didn’t keep the Onn or Buzz remotes so can’t honestly compare them. I also used the Apps for the devices and found the Shield one on my phone to be the best. Now this Ugoos remote has an air mouse and I’m getting to like it more and more.

Thank you so much for taking the high road and ending what has become a disjointed rambling.

I’m going to play around with the Nivida app on my phone for awhile. It looks promising.

Excellent. Fingers crossed my friend.

atvTools app is a great app for controlling android devices using a mobile phone.
You can send apk’s zip files images and text. Great for setting up a device and closing apps, cleaning cache and uninstalling apps.
I only use my Ugoos remote, atvTools and SmartThings app for controlling my device, TV and soundbar.

ATVtools Android phone app is great. It’s particularly useful to run ADB commands on Firesticks, I used it to setup encrypted DNS on my Firesticks. TDUK has a great demo video.

It’s even better running on a pc/laptop. It works great. Troy put out a video about it and I grabbed it right away. Regarding timeline? I do believe Troy’s was first but getting the information out there one way or another is all that’s important.

Troy did but it was the PC version, the video is the Android phone version. Tomato tomáto.

I forgot to mention the ADB commands feature as I never need to use it.

I have both the android and pc version, I prefer the pc version.

Sure, I can understand that. My PC laptop is to old for it and frankly I only use the PC as print server so I can print to my laser printer from my phone.

Oh that’s not true, I use it to print checks on my printer too. Two a month, both companies think I should either pay a fee or setup auto pay for the privilege of electronic payment, I’d rather pay for the stamp on the general principal, well that and I am stubborn.

ATVTOOLS on the phone let’s me do everything I need to do across my streaming devices, I was trying to imagine what the PC version can do that I would need that the phone version doesn’t have. I only need it for streaming.

Oh for @Avid08, yes I use SmartThings too for my Samsung and an Echo Dot to work together.

There is an app available to alert if the vpn goes down…its called monitor dot and is effective for me…try it.

Thanks but that sounds like the IPVanish Status Indicator they have on their app.

When the vpn is active the circle in the bottom of the screen is green. You can set it to different degrees of transparency so not to annoy you.

There are a few monitor dots. You will find two versions in the Troy Toolbox and you can still use the original that went to paid in it’s basic form as long as you don’t mind it nagging you once every few days to buy it. You dismiss and you’re good to go.
