A major shift is happening in how people consume entertainment. Cord cutters who abandoned cable TV are now cutting their streaming subscriptions. A recent survey of over 1,400 cord cutters reveals that 53.1% now pay for three or fewer streaming services. The survey data shows a clear trend. About 71% of cord cutters subscribe to…
“With major streaming services increasing their prices and doubling ad placements, this does not surprise us whatsoever.”
Exactly…
I mean who didn’t see this coming…I’ll tell you who, the greedy media conglomerates that’s who.
Question to a cord cutter.
Why did you cut the cord? to lower my bill and get away from so many ads.
So what do the media conglomerates do..raise prices, plug in more ads, and lower the quality or number of episodes in a season. Smart business plan eh? lol
I mean it worked great for cable and satellite, right lol
At some point perhaps someone will come up with an ingenious plan for entertainment…make quality shows, at an affordable price, and don’t plug ad after ad after ad in every 60 secs.
I live in an area where there scant choices, cable or small dish satellite. When Compost came to town, prices and selections were quite reasonable. Lately, I have been forking out 200 to 250 monthly dollars to Compost. And still not getting the channels we wanted. To get Turner Classic, we had to fork over big bucks for a sports package. Not doing it. Just dropped cable a few weeks ago, but kept the cable internet. Compared against cellular provider, no comparison. Cable was much, much better. Thanks to Troypoint, and the good folk on it, we now have decent television for less than half, including cable costs!
Congratulations on your decision to drop cable TV. I did that several years ago I have love the streaming channels I have subscribe to or trialed probably 75 or more by now. I usually subscribe for 3 months and have a couple of subscriptions working at the same time. I love watching TV shows from other countries and the selection of all those movies. Just waiting for some more internet provider competition hopefully that will lower the rate.
I had for year, a BUG, (big ugly dish). In the early 2000’s, there was quite a bit of freeor low cost subs out there. Of course, Charlie Ergan and his Dish network ruined everything with lawsuits. Funny thing was that Dish was easily hacked, and he could do nothing about it. His format was all wrong. Of course satellite went the way of cable, with expensive packages. Dish and Direct was no better. Then my dish took a shot of lightening, burned up mover motor. They also got very expensive, even on flea bay.
Really glad I cut cord. Wifey even learned how to reset system and work with VPN. And she still can’t program a VCR. Will probably keep switching subs, to keep from getting a loss from the law, as most are really not on the up and up. Love the Three Stooges channel on subs. 24/7 Stooges all the time.
Hey, thanks for getting back! Have a great summer watching TV! I take my box when I travel. Usually end up in a motel with lousy TV service. Now I don’t care!
