Stremio is a must for vpn. Its cloud based. Miki can explain it better but that much I remember.

So even though I’m at somebody else’s house and using their internet, I should still turn on my VPN?

of course you should but you dont have to. They could get flagged for illegal streaming tho and even tho its their internet its your mac address… you can run but not hide

@t7robert

You should always use a vpn with streamio. Any flags on the isp will go to the ip logged at the time of using.

Plus as they are direct torrents its alot safer to use the vpn with stremio

If they have a VPN you’ll be fine. I assume they have Stremio installed already and using it. So they really should have a vpn as the vast majority of sources are Torrents and since computers began ACE and MPAA, to name 2 agencies, have been going after Torrent sites. I never had problems when I had my site running due to extensive security requirements from my uploaders and “the scene”. The crap torrents being released today do not instill confidence that they are safe in any way, so you can take chances, but as it’s easy to use a VPN and that gives a reasonable level of safety there isn’t any reason not to use one. Now if you have Real Debrid integrated into Stremio then that adds yet another level of security. So IMHO a VPN is the minimum safety requirement and a VPN + RD is my go to setup.

Plenty reasons why you’d be wise to always use a VPN. Can’t think of a credible reason to suggest you would not use a VPN. If in doubt, just fire up the VPN. Better safe than sorry.
