I don’t know if this topic has been discussed (most likely) but I’m having an issue with my Fire Tv stick. I tried to connect an 8 gig USB via OTG, formatted and partitioned it fine and I was able to move some apps in it but then the USB started to disconnect and connect, making it to the point that I could not use the app anymore and had to reinstall it again internally. I have a fire stick with OS 6.xxx. If anyone can help with this I would really appreciate it.
If you got expanded storage to work on os6 your way ahead of the game. Normally doesn’t work.

True… 
but staying that way and perform is the issue. Wonder if it’s a hardware issue, maybe a different OTG cable? So far I made space now and reinstalled the app (Kodi) back but I can’t help that is disconnecting all the time when I try connecting a USB. 
Buy a Max, 1st gen and you can easily expand storage. The others aren’t worth the time.
