Updating apps on Nvidia Shield

I have a Shield TV Pro. When trying to update my apps, I press update all and the screen blinks like it is going to start updating but reverts back to update all and nothing happens. This a first for me. Any suggestions?

You update your apps in the play store or manually. If you are trying to update the shield its self most likely no update is needed.

Are you referring to updating ‘ALL’ in Tivimate. Meaning updating your playlists?

As TXRon stated, the Shield just updates the Shield and most likely there is no update available. The Shield does not update apps.

To update your apps that were installed from the Play Store. Then you need to update via the Play Store app.

Btw, there is one app that may not update called Android WebView. If that one hangs up, you need to disable developer options and then it will update. Just remember you will need to reactivate developer options and enable/disable whatever you had configured each setting to.

Summary:

  1. Update the Shield in the Shield’s settings.
  2. Update Play Store apps in the Play Store app’s settings.
  3. Update IPTV playlists in Tivimate app’s settings.

I was referring to the apps update via Google Play Store. I checked again this morning, and now there are no apps needing an update. Probably just a glitch of some sort.

What does Android WebView do?
I wish they would make it so we don’t have to disable developer each time we update it.

That allows sites to appear when you use a browser and search engine. WebView is stock, but there are others. TVBro suggests using their alternative which is called Gecko because of the issues related to WebView.

Imho, other than the updating hassle. I don’t have a problem with WebView.
