Update to Seren v2.1.9

Please could anyone help a 75 year old UK codger. I followed Troy’s detailed instructions and installed onto my Firestick 4K Kodi 19.3 Matrix + Seren +RD +Trakt. Everything is fine but I keep getting a message: “A new version of Seren is available from the repository. Please consider updating to v2.1.9”. Would it be possible to give me clear step by step instructions (like Troy so kindly does) so I can find the repository and carry out the update. Many thanks, Stephen.

Hi @Stephen3
Well, one way to check is to open Kodi.
Next, at the top, scroll over to the icon Recently updated and click on it.
After a new screen opens, click on the first tab Version Check and click on it.
In the new screen that open, scroll over to the box titled Auto-update, and check to see if the button is moved to the right.
Next scroll over to the tab Versions and click on it.
In the new screen that opens a banner is highlighted, click on it. Give the process a minute or so to check and do any updating. Wait for the message in the upper right hand corner to appear that the add-on updated.
Then hit your back button to get back to the Kodi home screen and you are good to go.

Hi Sbrowne126. Thank you for sending me such easy to understand instructions. Much appreciated!!!
However, when I opened Kodi 19.3 Matrix which I had downloaded from Troy’s Rapid App Installer, it came with the Xenon skin.
I scrolled along the bar until I reached ‘My Addons’. I clicked on ‘Recently Updated’ under My Addons but it just opened to a blank page so no ‘Version Check’ etc. etc.
Do I need to change the skin…Troy recommended Aeon Nox. Would this solve the problem?
Is there a skin which doesn’t have Seron installed on it so I can fully follow Troy’s instructions and add Seren?
I would really appreciate your help and advice. Many, many thanks, Stephen

Hi @Stephen3
So, yes you can change the skin back to the Kodi default skin Estuary.
Go to settings > interface > scroll over to the right and hover over skin and click on it.
When the new screen opens, scroll down the list and click on Estuary, then click yes to save changes. (if not listed, click on get more and then follow the remaining steps).
As far as trying others skins, I’ve messed around with a few myself, so if you want some help with those, just let me know.
Once your back to the default skin of Kodi, following the steps I posted above should now be a little easier to follow as the icons are more readily accessible.
