Unable to download Silk Browser

Am using an 4k firestick and are unable to download the Silk browser as it says I need to update the device??? Yet the device is updated, please help :+1:

Are you downloading it from the amazon app store as the silk browser is already installed on 4k sticks so trying to update should give an install or update link when going to Amazon app store. Or just clicking find>search on your stock home page, and typing in Silk

if you cant find silk I have a copy, just holla

There is another way. Log into your Amazon account and make sure it’s the same one you used to register your Firestick, once logged in and open, click the search and enter silk browser, then search and from the results choose the silk browser and click get or download, it should get installed on your device and you should be able to find the white Amazon smile on a blue background, and click to open the silk browser. If not then you will have to go into settings and find Account & Profile Settings. Open it and click “sync amazon content” and then you should be able to find the Silk Browser.

Tryed this and its saying update device even tho device is updated??? :thinking:

You logged into your Amazon account on say your phone? Not the device you’re using to stream, and then download into your account.

Yeah bud having trouble syncing them???

If you have a vpn on, try turning it off to sync.

But you have it in your Amazon account now? If so you need to find the “Account” settings on your device and then find the sync option and sync it. Also if it’s a .com acount, make sure you have your VPN set to a U.S. server.
TX may have a point. Try turning vpn off and then sync.

It’s your Amazon account login that’s important. Do you go to amazon.com to log in? if so
.com is U.S. based, so that’s probably why you’re having the update device issue as it want’s you to update your location. So you need a VPN and then log into a U. S. server in say New York, and then see if you can get the silk browser after you sync your account.

Im unsure why you are having this issue, silk is pre-installed, im in cad and it shows up, try rebooting your stick.

I’m having the same problem on the 2nd Gen Fire TV Cube.

Silk broswer is an app thats preinstalled, as far as i can remember. It was on my max.

I got Silk to install by clicking on the menu button on the remote when Silk was highlighted on the home screen. Then I selected more info and it let me install it. Maybe Sasha44 could try that too.

Especially in the UK you should use a VPN if you are streaming movies/series etc., and not paying for a ‘legal’ service. You should research the laws there.
