Ugoos SK1 Android Box Review 128GB Storage & 8GB RAM

Sk1 arrived this afternoon and all up and running not really noticed any difference to my am8 tbh other that it’s appearance.
I am impressed with the delivery from Alibaba though which was free and took 13 days.

Glad ya got it, ya got a gd deal. Here in uk we got 20% vat to add on to things, so even when they reduced on say aliexpress/alibaba they are still expensive. Works out cheaper to get them from ugoos.store

Hey @Avid08 good day. One thing I like about the SK1 compared to any other device I’ve owned is the plethora of options that are available. Wow. The AI upscaling is amazing as well. Have fun my friend.

I am in the UK and paid £19.51 tax but it was a decent price at a total cost of £118.23 still.

Thats a really gd price, didn’t realise as when you posted when you bought it, it was in dollars. How come you got such a big coupon saving?

Yes Miki they do have nice features and settings to tweak and play with.
Glad you are getting on with yours now as you first impressions didn’t seem favourable..

Yes I had two receipts and thought I would just post the one in dollars.
Not sure why they gave me the discount coupon maybe an introductory offer because I have never purchased anything from there and usually use AliExpress.
Or maybe a spring sale not totally sure but it was a nice little saving.

Yes sir. I have grown more and more use to the Ugoos, although their lack of assistance is still a concern. Would definately be nice to have a remote keymap at the very least. Enjoy @Avid08 I’m sure you will. Have a good weekend.

Yes a bit of a learning curve with no real assistance from Ugoos.
But there device work well for the most part with maybe the odd bug here and there that are not deal breakers for me.
The keymap remote is not something that I really need, but I can see it being helpful for others.
I do use the programmable IR buttons though which are helpful for me.
Thanks and enjoy your weekend too..

With so many options at least a minimal guide would be helpful. As you said there are so many options, and some are hidden deep into the menus.

I like the UR02 remote but have thought of getting a Dune R4 to use with it for more options, but I do wonder how the mapping would be.

Anyone using alternate remotes for more functions?

Yeh, holding out for new ugoos devices, hopefully will reveal some at Hong Kong expo next month.

Glad you like the SK1. It has basically the same hardware & software as the AM8 Pro. The metal case is more functional for cooling on the AM8 Pro but the SK1 remote has better functionality. Once you get the hang of what you can do to customize your device, it is a breeze to operate.

Owning the am8 from its release and knowing all the settings and do’s and don’t has definitely helped.
So setting it up was a breeze and I already own the ur02 remote so I don’t have to get used to using that either.
I definitely would recommend Ugoos devices and hopefully they keep producing these higher end devices.

Do I have to Jail Break a Ugoos SK1 Smart TV Box Android 11 Amlogic S928X-K 8GB 128GB? If so do you have a video or instruction on how to?

As the SK1 is stock android, and not a proprietary operating system, (like Amazon, Apple, Roku, etc.), you have the freedom to grant permissions for all available open source apps for your device. This will give you total access to everything out there for the android operating system.

I ordered one as well. Not worth it for me. No matter what settings I use it only plays one speaker through my Denon atmos reciever. So its useless for me there.

Not sure why but it has something to do with your setup because it’s never be mentioned by any user on the Ugoos Telegram.
So you have no sound from any of your surround speakers, side, rears or ceiling if you have them.
Also did you try the sk1 connected to a hdmi port on your TV and your receiver connected to the TV’s ARC or eARC port depending on what type of port your TV has.
This is how have my setup configured.
If you could post images of your sk1 sound settings I will take a look.
