Hey Miki, I just saw a video on UTube by Ronnie Bailey on Running SlimBOXtv on the SK1. Looks interesting but I’m curious as to your thoughts on this. Thanks.
I honestly don’t have an SK1 sp don’t know much about it.
Apparently, this firmware also works on the AM8 Pro.
Well I will have to watch that vid and do some research.
Could you give us an overview of the advantages of installing and using this firmware on the Ugoos devices? I just saw a Utube video on this by Ronnie Bailey and am considering whether to install. Do you have to install the firmware from a Windows pc and a flash drive? Thanks much.
I installed it Bill, but went back to stock. You install it via pc using amlogic burning tool, you need a usba to usba cable, connect the power cable and usb to both pc and sk1 then use a toothpick to push reset button in sk1. I think its in audio port on sk1.
The only thing i didnt like was if you change framebuffer size to 4k the screen icons look funny in their little boxes on main screen. You can still have it set to 1080p, and main resolution at 4k tho.
Its just like android tv interface without the annoying ads.
I may flash it back on as i like tinkering with it lol.
I used the Slimbox ATV version which worked great. Have to have windows Amlogic burn tool installed on pc computer. Slimbox has most recent firmware version now to download. It worked perfectly fine no issues.
Disadvantages - when slimbox new firmware is released need to do a clean fresh install every time. You can install over top but not recommended.
I went back to factory aosp firmware so I can have the ota updates and not have to worry on fresh clean install with every new Slimbox update.

Couple of questions if I may
In terms of performance how does the Nvidia stack up against the SK1
How difficult is it to setup SK1 I’m blessed to say money isnt an issue. But I wouldn’t want to purchase this and throw it across my living room and smash it against my fireplace if I couldn’t figure out how to configure it. 
Currently I do own a Sheild 2 Onns and a Firestick.
Secondly
Im trying to do my part and help the site out and donate and Im unable to see anywhere to do so.I read somewhere there a bunch of tutorials on different things.

If Slimbox had ota updates I’d be all for it. Having to do clean install and using burn tool gets old on new updates. Slimbox does keep firmwares up to date though just fyi.

There is lots of settings that can be changed, but just take your time and go through them one by one. Ive been setting mine up since christmas day lol.
It can just be used out the box, but i like to know what every setting does lol.

Its the sk1.
But ive got a fire cube 3 and nvidia shield pro among others lol.
Hey PapaS im getting problems when resuming playback on kodi, one time very stuttery and had to restart. The other time started playing with audio but blank screen, had to restart that time.
I tried your 5 min screensaver tip but still the same.
Im a bit disappointed, if it keeps doing it i will deffo be getting rid as not happening on any of my many other devices lol.
Sad to say, I do have that same problem with Kodi even with the screensaver set. I thought I was the only one with this pausing issue. I mentioned a while back on there Telegram and nobody else said they were experiencing the same problem 
Most things I watch I download beforehand using Kodi to my storage and then when I watch it back, I use Vimu player and my screensaver set to 5 min. and then I have no issues pausing. I keep hoping they will put out an update that will fix it because damn , you should be able to pause on any app without issue and that’s not my personal experience so far.
