Well, that’s certainly not good at all and could explain the issues. Did you explain that to them when initiating the return? Seems like that’s reason to not charge you for a return and their shipping insurance should cover it

trying to talk to anybody didn’t seem like an option the whole process is done through the chat on their website which is you type something, then leave your email and wait for short hard to understand messages coming back, obviously translated from a different language.
PapaS, That is really a drag. I’m so sorry to hear this and unfortunate that Ugoos doesn’t have better customer support.
The return process is the reason I always use Amazon. I pay a little more but returns are free any easy, I just take it to my local staples and thats it.
Sorry to hear this. Suggest you send Ugoos a bug report if you haven’t already and see if they have a fix for your problems. I got mine a week ago and no issues so far. Maybe a software conflict with your particular apps? Might give this a shot before being out $100 on a return.

The apps he mentioned all support ASOP Android 12 so I don’t believe that’s the issue. He mentioned the shipping box was damaged so I suspect something inside like the ram was damaged.
It’s a little too late for that now, I panicked worrying about having a 500 dollar paper weight. I tried for months to get issues with my SK1 fixed and 2 years later I’m still sitting here with an unplugged SK1 because my Hisense tv just works flawlessly with no box. Don’t have a computer so it’s stuck on Android 11 with 2 issues that drive me crazy that will probably never be fixed. Since day 1 if I pause any app for more than 5 minutes, I can’t resume playback without it freezing or choppy play. The other is it always wants to choose HDR playback when Dolby Vision file is there so I have to reboot box to get it to choose the Dolby Vision. On the other hand I can pause any app just using the Hisense for an hour if I want and it resumes playback without a hitch. Also when I choose a Dolby Vision file it 100% of the time plays in DV, never once does it play HDR instead. No more boxes for me.
Man, that is terrible to hear. Hopefully, they make it right.
Kinda figured it would have problems from the start. We are the test dummies on new Ugoos devices and firmware. AOSP 12 is a new Ugoos firmware. I’d say hold onto it eventually it will get fixed after more people get a hold of them. Good luck bud
I have installed Downloader, IBO Pro Player, TV Lok, TiviMate, Wolf Launcher, AIDA64, Radar X, Volume Booster by Goodev, Kodi, Analiti, ExpressVPN, and Tizen tube. All work great. 4K mode on this box has to be seen to be believed. Best picture I have ever seen. Sorry about your experience PapaS. I think you probably got a lemon.
How has the heat on the device been? Any need for an external fan?
That’s great news. Seems like papa just got a damaged unit then. Fingers crossed I have the same positive experience as you. I’m excited now about your experience with the picture quality. I’m definitely getting inpatient. I thought my sk3 was heading out of China but it’s just been sitting at the airport for 3 days now after clearing china customs.
Did you map the remote buttons at all using the ugoos button mapper? Hoping that just works
