When I hit the on button to turn on the Shield & Sony TV, they are on for a second or two, then turn off. I have to do it twice to make them stay on. Anyone with a solution?

check your cec settings

Agree with checking the CEC settings, you may want to start by unplugging both Shield and TV for a couple minutes and do a hard reset of them. Sometimes the easiest things can solve problems lol.
