I am trying to “jailbreak” a friends ONN (new out of the box). I am having trouble loading most of the Kodi addons. I loaded several apks from Unlinked with no problem. I’ve programmed a half a dozen this summer but never ran into this problem. I’ve tried Kodi 19 and 20 but get the same problem. Out of Troy’s list of best addons (August 2023), I can only get SHADOW load. This is the only addon in the narcacist repository that would load. Nothing in CREW will load…When I try other addons, after entering the url and try to “name” the addon, I get a msg that says “dependency on script module 0.0.0 could not be satisfied”…I have deleted Kodi and re-loaded it; I’ve tried kodi 19 and 20, I’ve rebooted the ONN, routers etc but nothing seems to work… I tried a different router and still get the same msgs. I tried using my phone as a hot spot (thinking my internet provider may be playing games) but got the same problem. I just went to one of my personal ONN devices and tried to install ASGARD but got similar messages (I have numerous addons on my personal ONN). I am scratching my head…at first I thought maybe I have a dud ONN but when I switched to my personal unit, I started having some of the same problems…any thoughts?
I would recommend Installing the Downloader App on the ONN Box. Then type in the code 250931 and you will have Troy’s toolbox which will link you to Installs of KODI and other useful tools. I suggest a Fresh install of KODI 20.2 then proceed to install whatever Addons you want. I have been using 9Lives and The Crew for several months without issues
Hi Mark, thanks for your response…actually, that is exactly the way I start when I program either firestick or onn for friends…I always start with downloader then Troy’s toolbox to download Kodi and other tools. For my personal units, Crew is my primary with back ups from 9lives, and Seren…as I mentioned, I have deleted both versions of Kodi and then did a fresh install…I started with kodi 20.2, deleted it then loaded 19.5 deleted it and then tried 20.1…I get the same result on all using fresh installs. I was finally able to get Shadow to install by using a different source for the repository (different from Troy) but Shadow was the only addon from narcacist repository that would load…nothing from Troy’s August list would load…there has got to be something simple
update…I finally the ONN to factory settings and started over…I was able to load Crew and several other addons within the Crew reposistory. I then went down the list from Troy’s august recommendations and was able to install several. I was never able to install the narcacist repository or FEN…I got enough installed for my friend but am curious to what caused the error msgs as reported above
Did you try FEN from the tikipeters repo. I try and get my repo zips directly from the github when possible.
I could not even get to the tikipeters repo…after entering the URL in the beginning, I immediately get a msg that I can’t connect to the server; try later…I’ve tried numerous times and get the same msg…same msg I get when I try to load the nardacist repository
Are you sure your Tikipeters is the right version 1.0.2? That’s the version I’m using. Seems like I remember having 1.0.0 and got that same message. Narcacist is 1.1.9, I haven’t installed anything from it yet. Anything better from it if I already use FEN & Umbrella?
Pawdog, tks for your response… When following Troy’s procedure, in the first step when asked to enter the url I enter the url that Troy supplied https://tikipeter.github.io the next step is to give it a name…this is the point where I get the msg that it couldn’t connect to the server…nothing in the url indicates which repository it goes to…so I can’t tell you which version. This the same msg that I try to get to the narcacist repository… Yesterday I programmed another ONN and had the same problem with both so I don’t think the problem was related to a single ONN…I don’t know if this is an ONN problem or other problem
I also had the same problem loading on the crew on Kodi I noticed that it was missing some programs from the crew which is probably the problem. But I also tried umbrella and one other one and finally gave up. It’s been a while since I’ve had Kodi been using APKs on fire Stick for a while but got a Walmart onn for free and thought I’d dedicated just for Kodi did the same as you and downloaded some tools made sure everything was turned on to allow and also had my IPvanish on I think there’s a problem maybe with the crew it is kind of weird though that things are missing with the program if you’ll see when you go to install it it says none under each listing pretty well. I thought same as you to delete Kodi and retry with other versions other than the newest one but I see you’ve done that. I’ll try and look around the insider to see if there’s any solutions but I’m is stumped as you I guess I’ll go back to the APKs like cinema for now until I can find a solution. Unless they have the crew add-on updated or somewhere else with those programs on there that are included with the crew that’s just a suggestion for now. Could be also Big brother hacking into their systems. Talk to you soon if I have a reply of a solution.
Downloaded The Crew again just now and it had the other programs listed but first deleted old crew and it works now on the Walmart Onn
