Trakt Now Limits Free Users to One Connected Streaming App

If you use Trakt to sync your watch history across multiple streaming applications, a major change could disrupt your setup. Trakt has officially announced that free accounts will now be limited to one connected community application at a time. Users who want to connect multiple third-party apps will now need a Trakt VIP subscription. The…

I rarely need KODI or Trakt now as my main IPTV service has all the shows I watch and marks them as watched. But a lot of KODi users are pissed off about the new redesign they did several months ago.

Collection is totally gone and they moved a lot of what was Free functionality to VIP. Now this!
What a mess Trakt has become

STREMIO will be that one connected streaming app. I usually have around 3 apps attached. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

I think we are being sucked dry just because we gave up cable.

I have scaled way back and don’t use any builds any more. I do use the Umbrestuary skin from the Umbrella repository. The irritating thing is that some of my go to apps do not give me anything in Progress for TV shows. Trakt is payed for and is working fine in The Crew, Red Light & POV. It is not working in Homelander, Absolution & Umbrella.
Anyone else having this problem and or have a fix or workaround to get Progress working??

really dont need trakt with stremio, as they have their own tracker

Possible Kodi solution from a build developer:

If you use the Account Manager addon to authorize Trakt then you are technically only using one authorization to filter to your movie/tv addons.

I’ve always looked at Trakt as a convenience rather than a necessity so this change is not that big of a deal for me. Plus I use Umbrella 99% of the time so its not really an issue for me at all.

Dont most Addons keep track of your views now also?

I dont have info how to get Account Manager it comes with the build I use.

Hi friends. Forgive my ignorance on this trakt information problem  I use Kodi and have 2 repositories with video applications from which I have installed - POV & Umbrella. I did authorize Trakt on both video apps. I see where everyone is saying trakt will only allow one application at a time, but would someone explain if that applies to Kodi itself, or the video apps downloaded from each repository? I don’t mean to be obtuse (:face_with_spiral_eyes::woozy_face:) about it… lol … but my mind is not working as well as it has in the past due to many personal issues. Thank you all in advance for your help

Hi @Patachou No. If you are using KODI you can have Trakt Authorized in as many addons as you want. BUT say you tried to Authorize Trakt in Stremio, Nuvio, or any other app, you would see a popup saying you first need to deauthorize Trakt in KODI

Hope this makes sense…

Thanks for clearing it up for me @SoloWarrior Much appreciated!!

Newbie Stremio question: I have TONS of things marked as watched in Trakt via the app and Kodi. Do I have to go in and individually mark everything in Stremio for the tracking in there if I want to keep Trakt on my Kodi for now?

Stremio automatically marks episodes as watched after you have watched them in your library.

But what about the millions of things already watched? It doesn’t seem like Stremio has a good way to mark full seasons. From my desktop, it looks like I can do the entire show, but if I “Unwatch” an episode, it seems to unwatch everything?

Sorry. It’s kinda confusing, especially after years of using Kodi

On my Stremio every watched episode is marked as watched. I can unwatch any single episode and only that one shows as unwatched. Although why you would do that is beyond me. But ya can. But as of right now if you open a series and have watched say 5 out of 7 years already, you can’t marck the years of episodes you have already watched in one shot. Nuvio you can do that. But once again, if I already know I’ve watched 5 of 7 years then I just start watching on yr 6 and every episode gets marked.
