Traffmonetizer on mecool

I have several mecool km3’s and only on one of them is this annoying traffmonetizer app. I can uninstall it and it comes right back. Does anyone know how to get rid of it for good. I have not seen anything about getting rid of it on my android tv device, and I don’t now how it showed up.
Thanks

Where did you purchase the mecool boxes? That app is in the google play store and appears to be some sort of money generator?.. Looks scammish to me and I find it strange that its even in the play store but google loves ads so I digress. If purchased from a 3rd party seller it could have been installed by them as a backdoor to use your system resources(behind your back)…kinda trojan esk like. Have you attempted a full restore of the box?

I have done a factory reset and worked for a while without it, but then it is back. I purchased the mecool directly from mecool in china. I don’t understand why it is on only one of my boxes and not the other 5 that I have. All purchased from same supplier and basically programmed the same.

go into settings>>>apps and see if it shows up there. If you see it click on force stop, uninstall(if seen), clear data and make sure no defaults are set. Re-boot, go back and see if its there still and if it is is it still stopped. post back.

I did do what you suggested and there are 6 apps I found in the system apps that had no name associated with them. I did go in and clear the cache and data and disabled them and uninstalled them. I should have mentioned that I have 6 icons on my wolf launcher that have no description for them. When I uninstall these 6 apps the icons also go away. I have done this before (uninstalled these 6) but they keep coming back. There was no name associated with them in the apps, but when I opened the app up each of them said Version 3.4.4 and underneath this also said “com.service.android”.
Thanks

Update: Since I have deleted those 6 apps I have only run two apps on the box (surfshark and tivimate) and had no reappearance of the Traffmonetizer. I think I must have an infected app that is causing the problem. I will start trying different apps and try to figure the guilty one out.

Not sure if you have but might try a virus scan? Very strange this came directly from mecool on it. Ive seen junk like this installed by 3rd partys and then re-sold as new. It almost sound as its baked into the firmware. If troubles persist you might try and obtain the firmware from mecool(with directions) and re-install and get a factory install going. I think the box was either tampered with prior to you getting it or someting you installed has dug in.

how can I do a virus scan? There is also a com.ean app I am sure these came from something I have installed.

I believer Troypoint has total in the RAI and you can try various online scanners…
