I’m surprised I didn’t get any hits on this during a search I can’t be the only one bothered by this. I have 3 VPN’s. I have a lifetime account with Tor Guard. An annual with Express VPN. Since I use Proton email and Pass I get VPN through them as well. I kept forgetting to turn the VPP on after having it off or my wife watching IPTV and never turning it on and getting nastygrams from our ISP so I bought a router and put all 3 VPN services on it. Here’s the problem. I HAVE THE SAME DAMN PROBLEM. So many sites block VPN’s I’m constantly turning it off for normal day to day use and the not turning it back on and here come the nastygrams.

Long story short. Does anyone know/use a VPN that offers IP’s that are not known VPN IP addresses? Tor Guard says they do but they don’t work and it took an act of congress to get my money back. I specifically can’t get to any state of Ohio or Illinois sites or government sites in general. mlb.com. nfl.com. monster.com. And the list goes on. I can’t see much point to a VPN anymore if it brings this level of inconvenience and aggravation along with it. VPN’s also used to allow me to watch out of market sports by selecting the correct cities but both the MLB and NFL have figured that out now too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do any of your VPNs have the split tunneling feature? What that feature does is allow you to assign the VPN to specific apps and leaves the others alone. This way you don’t have to keep toggling the VPN on and off. I know Surfshark and Proton has this feature.

I have proton so I’ll take a look. When you use it in a router you lose a lot of configuration options which is probably why I haven’t noticed it. I’m not sure what options are available on Firecubes. Thank you.

No split tunneling on mac which is where I primarily need it. Should have mentioned Mac in the first place. Apologies, and thanks again for responding. I’ll see if it’s available on the cubes that would be a big help.

I’m not a Mac guy so I won’t be much help there. But yes, if you can get it going on the devices that the less technical people use if would probably save you a lot of stress  I understand putting it on the router for an all or nothing scenario would be the easiest but if you can get this working it should help. Good luck and reach out to the forum for any more question!

Proton is working on adding the split tunneling feature for Mac this year. It is already in the Android app so will work for the Amazon Fire OS.

Have you tried to disconnect and reconnect the vpn to get a different isp address?

I have at times gotten blocked because the vpn address was used alot and it triggered a block. Its been a while and i dont remember the sites. But IIRC i only needed to reconnect under a less used/not blocked vpn address and it worked. But again, its been a while since it happened.

I now also use a vpn (Nord) on my router but only have the devices i use to stream set up directly. If i need to use it elsewhere i use the app through the device (phone etc).

Proton has stealth protocol just for VPN blocking .

In a router setup you can add a finite amount of servers but there is no DHCP like option where disconnecting does a release and renew and you get a different IP. Sadly the devices I use to stream are the problem because it needs to be turned off whether it’s the vpn on the router or the apps to get most of the sports streaming. Thanks fror the info mate.

I have it set to smart in the app which I was told will select stealth node when needed. It doesn’t work and proton support acknowledges that it doesn’t work. Also even if it did work that level of option selection is not available in the router setups. I have Express VPN and Tor Guard apps and setups in the router and they all do the same. When you use these VPNs most internet online IP finder sites will display the name of the vpn server provider and there are not thousands of them and some of them are listed as shady or not trustworthy. Regrettably all three of the VPN providers I use use these blackballed/blacklisted services. I complained to all off them about this and so far the only one to do anything about it is Proton who now for the most part is giving me IP’s of well respected services. I am currently pulling from Diamond IP Brokers out of India which comes up in most internet scans as a reputable service. Whether they log or not is another story. Thank you for your input I appreciate it.

what are you doing to get letters? Torrents? I watch IPTV without VPNs all the time and do not get letters.

Every one of them has been an MPA complaint to Spectrum who sends me a letter and email and if I don’t respond they turn off my service. You get a link to see the MPA’s complaint and every time it’s been a movie download from Yify. They must camp on that site so I’ve stopped looking at it. I’ve never gotten anything from any other site.

No problem. The router i use (tp link) will change the vpn isp address if i disconnect the vpn and reconnect on the routers app.

Its been a while since i set it up. I dont remember how i initially set up the vpn with the router. Maybe there was a setting I adjusted.
