Tivo Stream 4K won't load Kodi Addons

Has anybody been having trouble with the Tivo 4k device? Just as I was beginning to like the Tivo 4k, it seems to have taken a dump on me. I’ve had it programmed for nearly 2 months. Last week it would not load the Kodi 20.1 app (originally loaded from the google play store). I had a number of add-ons loaded on to it and it had been working with no problems. I tried multiple times but when I clicked on the app, it would not open up. I tried unplugging the device and restarting but problem didn’t go away. I thought that maybe the device was overheating so I installed a 3 ft hdmi extender; didn’t seem to make a difference. I finally decided to delete kodi and re-install. I tried to install via downloader app and got msgs that kodi would not install. I tried to install other apps with downloader and all failed to install. I then decided to delete the downloader app and re-load from the google play store. When I tried then to reload the downloader app, I get a msg that I could not load the downloader app. So now I am without Kodi and without the downloader app. Other apps “seem” to work ok but I am not going to delete any other apps. I installed orginally the Tivo 4k using an OTG cable with a 32 g flash drive…the original installation was seamless with no problems…I was able to load all the apps and use them at that time. Now I am having trouble (I had not installed anything new in the last several weeks). I am disappointed because I was getting used to using the Tivo device after Amazon keeps screwing with their firestick…does anybody else have a problem and/or does anybody have a suggestion? tks

Not sure, but it could be play-protect stopping everything. As a side note the tivo-4k is a bare bones system and not really meant for kodi. It’s specs are ok for iptv, or any of the included certified apps.

update to my previous post…as mentioned previously, I tried “unplugging” the unit to restart it and did not seem to have an effect…yesterday I tried the “restart” from within the settings menu and everything started working…I was able to reload downloader and then reload Kodi with numerous side applications…I don’t know if this was an anomaly that it started working using the restart from the settings menu or whether there is a glitch in the restart from the power supply. Everything is working now…still scratching my head

I have had a bad experience with my Tivo 4k. Random reboots, USB-c port caused it to reboot and didn’t read my HDD. I assumed I got a dud from the factory. I have factory reset it 3 times, and am now just testing it with verified apps and light streaming to see if it continues to have issues. I had been using it for higher end streaming, Syncler, etc and it didn’t seem like it was up to the task, so I’m not surprised Kodi doesn’t work well.

TiVo 4k has seemingly widespread problem of when first activated it stumbles out of the gate (sorry, Texas expression). A quick restart and everything works fine!
