For any Canadians looking on the Canadian Amazon website, do not purchase any TIVO products as they will not work in Canada. I purchased the TIVO stream 4K. Before using,… the on screen instruction told me I had to open a TIVO account before using the device.
I tried opening an account and unless you live in the USA you cannot register the device. I called TIVO because of the problem entering a Canadian address and they confirmed that unless I have an American address I cannot use ANY of their products. Just a heads up for fellow Canadians on this site.

As far as the Tivo 4K streamer goes I’ve never had an issue since I bought it.
It does everything you need to do when it comes to streaming…
This has been a Tivi/Canada thing for years. I’ve seen posts say they just use a VPN and a fake US address to set it up then have no problems. Just like overseas ONN users do.

Not much different than Amazon. In order to get the best APPs and the best options a friend allowed me to use his U.S.A. address to set up an Amazon U.S. account, effectively bypassing the account restrictions on the Cdn Amazon Library and giving me full access to apps I wanted.

Hello Miki, I thought about that but, I do not know anyone in the US. I did ask their customer service if I could use an American address and she said the unit would probably not work. I was not so sure about that as I would just use a USA city on my VPN.
Hi Pez149. I know because I ordered a TIVO Stream 4k. You cannot get past the on-screen instructions until you open a TIVO account with an American address.
Tivo’s website specifically warns buyers that their 4K streamer is a for US use product only.
It can only be used in the US.
That doesn’t mean others haven’t found a work around.
